  1. When I go to channel/EPG and edit a channel and select EPG source only a few options as far as letter C are available. I looked at the log earlier and it showed only grabbed data as far as letter C. My XML file looks ok from what I can see. Maybe I'm missing something. I've stopped the XMLTV at the moment as the wife is trying to watch recorded TV and I'm trying to eliminate the cause of fast forwarding problems. When she fast forwards a program the stream freezes. She is not a fan of my setup tonight I'll post the log and XML tomorrow.
  2. Any chance of a steer to map the channels on XMLTV? I've got it pretty much sorted apart from mapping the EPG source in TVHeadend. I have used the UK ini file to configure the XML file in the config. I followed your advice of using the default and then tidying it up, but it's not really playing. A few of the EPG sources are populated with the correct source, but most are empty. I assume that this is because they are named differently. When I change the name in the XML file in the two places shown previously, I get no update in TVheadend. I can change the EPG source for a few in TVheadend for A -C but the menu does not allow me acces to any other EPG source below letter C. I'm still working on it, but any help or shortcuts appreciated. thanks saarg / tobbenb
  3. Channel changes are quick and Wife friendly I am using the unstable docker version. I'm sorting all of the channels now, renaming and organising channel numbers to match the UK freesat list. Next job is the logo mission. I am planning on just linking the user icon script to the file location on my cache drive. That's what worked well for me on the on the plugin, but I'm open to suggestions. Do you fellows have a super duper way of getting the EPG? I'm just using the over the air standard grabbers.
  4. I've got it sorted! I am a bit of a nugget really If I had read and digested the notes in the docker correctly, I would have seen that I needed to just input "/recordings" in the TVheadend path. It's not quite the same as the plugin. Ooops! Just the configuration to finish. Its all looking great so far. Thanks for all of the help.
  5. Container volume: /RecordedTV Host path: /mnt/disk1/RecordedTV/ Recording System Path: /mnt/disk1/RecordedTV/
  6. Hi CHBMB & Saarg Sorry for the delay. First time online for a while. All four tuners are picked up fine. I'm just trying to figure out why I'm not getting all the muxes scanned. Missing a few channels. Channel switching is now fine. Also, I'm getting "htsp client command failed. Unable to stat path" popping up all the time. I believe it's linked to my recorded tv and time shift storage. I'm yet to solve that one! But real progress so far. Thanks a lot guys.
  7. Looks like I'm up and running....... Time to configure. Thanks
  8. Please expand on the "Here's a template for you to alter for your config"...... I was just putting that info into the extra parameters box on previous attempts. Should I be adding the text elsewhere? The Digital devices tuners are using 1 PCIe slot and are connected together by a supplied cable. In effect a 4 tuner card.
  9. Just the Digital Devices Cine S2. Two cards, four DVB-S tuners.
  10. I'll give the docker another go then. It's not the DVBSKY, as I returned that to Amazon for a refund. I never actually got it working. Thanks for the guide.
  11. Is it best to install the the Openelec VM onto a SSD outside of the array? I would think only a small size of drive would be needed. Is snap the best way to achieve this? Any input on the required number of cores and minimum memory to run this VM well?
  12. Ok thanks. Like Saarg, as my x16 slot is already taken, it means it's time for a motherboard upgrade too. Don't mind though, as my HTPC will become redundant and make an appearance on eBay to recover costs
  13. No gaming. Just movies, TV and playing 24/192 music files through PCM to AVR.
  14. Looks like it's time to go shopping for a GPU for my new Openelec VM! Any suggestions? 3D support, 4k and HD audio through PCM are required
  15. Apparently these are worth looking at as an alternative to the RasPi: https://www.solid-run.com/products/cubox-i-mini-computer/ Don't think they are 4k capable though.
  16. I use a PC to run Openelec for my lounge TV setup and several RasPI's around the house for other TV's. They all use TVHeadend and play media files from my unraid server. I find that lossless HD audio files work very from the PC setup. The pulse eight adapter for the PC enables me to hide my AVR and PC in the attic and control all with the Samsung TV remote. It works really well. I think the Openelec VM would work well for me as long as I could pass through the pulse eight adapter. It really is a deal breaker.
  17. I'm hoping that it will be possible to pass through a CEC-Hdmi adapter to work on the new Openelec VM: https://www.pulse-eight.com/p/104/usb-hdmi-cec-adapter The ability to control everything with my tv remote works a treat.
  18. I'll have a pint waiting for you whenever you feel like visiting my beloved Lichfield again I promise that you won't bump into the old flame.....
  19. Disposable income? Did that happen before Wife & child? The other tuner is now in Ubuntu. Result!!!!
  20. Obviously not enough days spent reading the forums. More effort required
