  1. Hello, I just installed an NetApp DS4246 disk shelf that was connected to an LSI SAS 9200-8e controller with an 40G QSFP SFF-8436 to Mini SAS SFF-8088 DDR Hybrid SAS Cable 4M For NetApp. I then moved my array of 10 SATA hard drives to the array and installed 4 new SSD's into the main server box for new cache pools. I updated the firmware of the LSI SAS 9200-8e to 20.00.07.00. everything was recognized by unraid and I was able to start the array. After I started the array a parity check was started, everything looked good until I was spammed with UDMA CRC ERROR COUNTs from the 10 hard drives in the DS4246. I stopped the parity and moved the 10 hard drives back into the server box and the 6 SSD's into the DS4246. I also reseated all cards and cables. I again started the system and everything was working no more errors. Later that night my system did its app backup and I got a UDMA CRC ERROR COUNT warning on one of the ssd's. so I started googling to see if I could find a solution. the common theme of the UDMA CRC ERROR COUNT problems seems to be connection issues or bad cards. I ordered a new LSI SAS 9207-8e card and it arrived today, I updated the firmware to 20.00.07.00 and replaced the LSI SAS 9200-8e card. I moved 2 of the hard drives from my server box to the DS4246. I started a parity check to see if that had solved my issue, but after a bit the errors came back on the 2 drives on the DS4246. I switched ports on both the LSI card and the DS4246, errors. I swapped the IOM6 modules in the DS4246, still errors, I even removed the bottom IOM6 module to see if there was an issue with the modules. I have ordered a new 2M cable which will be here next week. I have also moved the 2 hard drives back into the server box. does anyone have any suggestions on things I can try/do to fix this issue. if I need to exchange my DS4246 I only have about 2 weeks left. Noticed that there was a lot of "unraid kernel: w83795 1-002f: Failed to read from register 0x045" errors in the log, searched and discovered that this was a sensor error, I removed the "Dynamix System Temp" plugin and they went away. I am pretty sure that this is unrelated to the issue above. unraid-diagnostics-20220318-1616.zip
  2. That got me up and running, thanks for the help. The Doc

  5. Thanks for the info, If it continues I will do as you suggest. I hope it was just a one off.
  6. Sh**, just upgraded the CPU's. hope it is just a one time thing, how do I tell which one is having the issue, there are 2 processors on this board.
  7. Hello. I logged into my server today to do something and noticed that Fix common problems was reporting "Machine Check Events detected on your server". I tried to look into the log file, however I am not sure what I am looking for. I have attached the diagnostic zip file, any help in figuring out what is happening would be greatly appreciated. 11. I got this notification from Fix Common Problems. it told me to: "post your diagnostics and ask for assistance on the unRaid forums" so here I am, what is going on and where the heck should I look for a problem? unraid-diagnostics-20171210-1002.zip Thanks in advance The Doc.
  12. the ports and the admin password were duplicated, removed the dups and everything started fine.

  15. Hello, I am a new user to UNRAID and just got my system up and running. I followed the directions and configured my system, started testing the build with the free trial using 3 - 4tb disks. After determining that UNRAID ran fine on my configuration I purchased the Pro License. installed the remaining drives and SSD's, started the system. I stopped the orignal array and added the new drives to the array and the SSD's to the cache. Then started the array. At this point the array started cleaning the added drives and gave me an option to format the new SSD in the cache, but only one of them. I told it to go ahead and format it. The system formatted the one cache drive and continued the clean process. Once the clean process was completed I Formatted the new harddrives. now everything looks ok, EXCEPT that only one of the cache drives is showing usage information and a file system. I stopped the array and removed (un-selected it, physically still installed) the cache drive that was showing and re-started the array. the system let me format the SSD and it had file information. stopped the array re-attached the Removed SSD and restarted the array. same issue, only the top drive was showing the format and usage. I stopped the array again and swapped the locations of the SSD's in the cache selection list. restarted and the problem still exists. This could be normal operation, but since I am new to UNRAID, I am making sure. here is my configuration: Asus KGPE-D16 motherboard running Dual Opteron 6128. 128GB ECC REG Memory M1015 flashed to IT mode 6 - 4 Tb Harddrives (1 - Parity 5 - array) 2 - 250 Gb SSD's for Cache. 16. Hello, I Would like to know if it is possible to assign a Specific NIC ( or Fixed IP) to an App? I am currently running an Ubuntu server for NAS, Plex, Calibre, and Transmission. I have my router set up to route all outgoing and incoming Torrent traffic through a VPN, but not all of my network traffic is going through the VPN. This is accomplished by having a fixed IP address for the torrent machine. Also I have set Transmission up to use ports supplied by the router, which change every so often. Since I plan on making use of plugins and VM’s on the new box, I would like to run the apps, rather than build an Ubuntu server VM. I read in another post about Passing through Network Controllers to VM’s but an app would be simpler I think. Thank You The Doc.
