  1. OK data-rebuild is complete now.. and here are the main page summaries "before" and "after" my disk upgrade attempt for Disk1. The "Used" column of 2 pictures seems to show the replaced drive may have correctly re-build what was on Disk1 removed drive. (All sizes seem to match) Only Disk5 is now marked "unmountable: No File System". Does this mean Disk5 is the only one I need to worry about now? Appreciate any suggestions ..
  2. Hi guys I started the disk upgrade process for one of the 4T drives in my array replacing with a larger 8T drive. I pre-cleared the new drive first attaching as an external USB and followed the advice given by Pete in the following thread: Ran parity check first, stopped the array, unassigned the old drive (Disk 1 in my picture), power down, removed Disk1 and installed the new drive at the same place, powered back on, assigned the new drive to Disk1 and started the array. Now my Disk1 is listed as "emulated" and data re-build is running.. however another fully working disk I have in the array (Disk5) is now marked as "disabled" with a message saying "unmountable file system" (See the attached picture of my array status) What has gone wrong here? Did I lose data? What to do from here? My Disk5 has xfs file system and it still shows as xfs in the main page but with the above message.. Please help! Thanks diagnostics-20200621-1611.zip
  3. Thank you. Rebooting the array did the trick. USB drive is now showing up under "Unassigned Devices" and also available for pre-clear. Problem solved. I have done this severl times before but don't recall having to reboot for drive recognition. Thanks again for the suggestion.
  4. Thank you. Diagnostics info attached. diagnostics-20200615-1414.zip
  5. Hi guys I've attached a brand new external WD Easystore 8T drive to my server via USB3.0 but for some reason it's not showing up under "Unassigned Devices" or as available for preclear via the plugin. I'm running the latest Unraid pro version and puzzled by this. I can feel the drive spinning and I can also explore it when connected to my windows PC meaning it's not a bad drive. What could be wrong here?
  6. Have you solved this problem? I have been having similar issues accessing my shared folders from my Oppo203 in nfs. I have about 1400 shared folders all of which are nobody/users. In smb all of them show up, but in nfs only about 73 shows up. Sometimes this number increases but never to the full 1400 folders. I'm running the latest unraid stable version and I'm pretty sure this started happening from about 2-3 release updates ago. Before that I had no trouble seeing all my shared folders via nfs.. any suggestions on how to debug this?
  7. Thanks! My directory structure is like this: /nmt/user/Music/<Genre>/<Artist>/<Album>/* And my shared folder is "/nmt/user/Music" so I have "/nmt/user/Music" in the config here but with no luck so far.
  8. Thanks I did that and re-started the server but for some reason it's not seeing anything inside "Music" share. Maybe something else I missed?
  9. Greeting to all! First time user here.. installed this on my server and trying to edit the config file to change my media location from /media (default) into /Music. I did this change using the Edit menu as follows: Applied my change and the message says it was successful. Restarted the App but I still don't see my media files. Strangely when I clicked the config file from the menu below to see it's content I still see media_dir=/media (and not /Music) What am I doing wrong?
  10. Thanks for all the help and tips guys. Really appreciate it. I think I'll just keep the FS on the older disks for now and not take any risks.
  11. Just an update that I moved the "flashed" H310 on to my Unraid server and successfully added a new 5T drive. Showed up as new drive in the main unraid GUI. Used the "pre-clear disk" plugin to successfully pre-clear the new drive via the GUI. It was the first drive I precleared using this plugin. All other drives in the system were pre-cleared using the script using telnet/screen. After the pre-clear added to the array and hit "format" and it showed up as "XFS" FS. All my other drives are "reiserfs". Will this be a problem? Do I need to do a FS conversion?
  12. Thanks opentoe for that link. I didn't order the 90 degree angle ones because that will be problematic for my Norco back. This ebay ones look good and cheap too! Are you sure about this cable because in post #344 of this thread Fireball3 mentioned that "reverse breakout cables will not work"!! Also picked up this 5T for $99 BF price at the local Frys. There were plenty in stock and surprisingly no lines today when I went mid morning.. http://www.frys.com/product/8599849
  13. Thanks I used my Windows PC to flash because using the unraid box to do the flashing was not recommended in the wiki.
  14. Thanks. I Connected the H310 to PCI-E slot of my main PC running win7 ultimate and went through the flashing process successfully without any errors!! When the win7 PC boots as normal it's shutting off by itself and automatically reboots again (twice) before it successfully boots at the 3rd attempt with the new card plugged in What could be the reason for this? (this behavior was there both before and after flashing) Next I plan to move the card to the unraid box and hoping to use it to increase my storage there. My new HDs will be inside a NORCO SS-500 cage so looks like this cable won't work with the Norco back. Will 2 of these cables get me full 8 drive expansion? https://www.amazon.com/CableDeconn-SFF-8087-Degrees-Target-Cable/dp/B00XBE4DGO Thanks again for all the help.
  15. Can you share a pointer to an example cable I need to connect this card to regular SATA HDs? I have the same cable as shown with this card. Looks like this won't work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-H310-Perc-Adapter-6Gb-s-SAS-RAID-Controller-0HV52W-0T3F4V-RAID-0-1-5-10-50-/152297561810?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D40293%26meid%3D729bb7c8defd495395ca5c3364c1e21f%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D11%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D291925551355&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=zU0jri%252BN%252Bnb9X2tlH1IYrSddwFg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc (scroll down on this page to see details) There's also an aux power connector on this card. Do we need to connect that too?
  16. Thanks for the details Fireball3. I found and ordered one with a cable you mentioned. I'll have to read up on the flashing instructions now.. hopefully not hard.
  17. Looks like I'll be needing to expand my storage pretty soon and reading through these threads the Dell H310 controller card is a popular choice among unraiders these days. Looking at ebay listings I came up with the following .. can someone please confirm that this is the exact card we're talking about?? Just want to make sure before I buy ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-PE-PERC-H310-6Gb-s-RAID-Controller-Card-0HV52W-Standard-Profile/291925551355 Do I also need to buy any special cables? Links to product? My motherboard is https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/880GMAE53.html Will this card work with my MB? Will this card support 5T+ drives? Appreciate the feedback. For reference I'm running latest UnRAID version.
