  1. The call traces seem to be related to my win8 VM I have running Blue Iris. I've left it shut down for the past 4 days and the server has been running everything else without any issues. Not really sure how to go about figuring out whats wrong with the win8 VM, nothing has really changed configuration wise, except maybe some windows updates...
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. They are all already set to be 3ware. I've had those errors for literally 2+ years and as far as I can tell they are benign. Something about the controller not passing a certain command when it's trying to pull temperature data or something. I can't rule them out as being related to my problem, but judging by how long they've been present when the machine was otherwise operating without issue, I think there is something else going on here. I'll try uninstalling preclear and the statistics sender plugin and report back if that improves anything.

I see OOM errors in the syslog but not sure how to diagnose what was causing them. I've been having issues lately with the system locking up randomly. I had also recently completed several file transfers using krusader and invoked the mover but this may not be relevant. I was having high CPU utilization and couldn't figure out what was causing it. I think I may have shut down my windows 8 VM in order to ensure Plex was able to run smoothly as I had a user watching something. That was the last time I interacted with it until i came home today and noticed my home automation system wasn't working (which runs on the win7 VM). Then I noticed nothing on my unRAID system was working - no VMs, dockers, webUI, or console. After realizing it was fully locked up I pressed the power switch once hoping to initiate a graceful shutdown which luckily appeared to work - after rebooting I browsed to my flash drive over the network and uploaded diagnostics here. I appreciate any assistance! towermediaserv-diagnostics-20190723-1724.zip
  4. Thank you very much for this! I'm in similar situation as OP and no programming experience but with your post I was able to run your script and see parity sync status from the console.
  5. Clearing the cache fixed it thanks!! Regarding the 3ware errors - yea unraid doesn't like my controller and spams stuff like that all day long, but as far as I can tell they are just a nuisance and don't cause me any problems.
  6. Update - just after posting this topic I decided to try accessing the web gui through another browser. I was using Chrome before so I tried with Firefox this time and it works fine. So seems to be some type of issue with Chrome - any idea what could be causing this or what I can do to make it work in Chrome again?
  7. I am running version 6.4.0 and ran into an issue with the web gui today. It loads up fine but much of the content within each page of the web gui doesn't load properly and a lot of the buttons don't work. I was able to view the Sysog I tried restarting via command line and now I am running into the same issue after a power cycle. The web gui loads but mostly doesn't work. When I click the Start array button nothing happens. Dashboard - loads but no server data seems to populate the fields. It doesn't show any of my disks and the System Status Load Statistics are just empty gray bars with no activity Main - None of my disks show up, clicking the Reboot or Power down buttons don't work. After a command line reboot, I can tick the check box for 'Maintenance Mode' but clicking the Start button doesn't work. Shares - page loads but can't interact because array isn't started Users - loads and fully functional - i can click into different users and make changes Settings - loads and I can click into the different sub-categories and change settings, but clicking any of the Apply or Done buttons doesn't work. Plugins - nothing loads Docker - I can see all my dockers but clicking on them doesn't open the context menu. If i shut them down via command line their status in the UI does update. VMs - I can see all my VMs but clicking on them doesn't open the context menu. Apps - I see the CA header but nothing loads Stats - I see the Disk Stats and System Stats tabs but nothing loads. Tools - some of the sub-menus work, some dont. I can click into Diagnostics but the Download button doesn't work. Processes does show running processes. System Devices page loads up but just spins on 'Please wait...retrieving information!". Logout - nothing happens when I click >_Terminal - Terminal window opens up normally Feedback - nothing happens when I click Help - nothing happens when I click Log - nothing happens when I click I can't run Diagnostics but I was able to use the Terminal to get the output of the Syslog and attached it here. Any ideas? Syslog5-3-2018.txt
  8. I have a Windows 8 VM on my unRAID server and want to back up a single file from the VM. I want the file to be automatically backed up to a share on my unRAID array. I'd like the file to be backed up daily and I also want it to delete versions of the file that are older than X days (so I don't forget about it and have hundreds of copies of the file). I can't seem to find a utility that will do this. I know Win8 has file history but I think that only works for an entire drive or folder. I don't want to backup the whole driver/folder, just the one file. Any recommendations are much appreciated!
  9. I am using it in JBOD mode. I've looked through all the different support documentation I could find but either there's nothing addressing this issue or I'm not proficient enough to understand it.
  10. I have posted about this issue in the past but to no avail (see description below). After upgrading to 6.4.0 the issue seems to have gotten worse. There has to be something that can be done about this. I am open to any suggestions. Diagnostics are attached. Would it help if I submit a bug report? Problem: I'm seeing errors like this in the syslog all the time, I think mostly when the drives are being accessed for something. Jan 20 17:31:10 TowerMediaServ kernel: scsi_io_completion: 8 callbacks suppressed I found a handful of other threads and they all seem to say the error is benign - something relating to the kernel trying to access the drives directly for the temperature but the controller doesn't pass through the command. Temps don't work in the GUI but I can get them via SSH and running the SMART commands manually so that's not huge deal. I'm not experiencing any negative symptoms other than these annoying error messages in the syslog...depending on what the server is going I could see as much as 40-50 lines of this in the log every 5 minutes which means it's really easy for the noise to obscure any actual important information...and it's literally filling up the syslog. unRAID version: 6.4.0 Hardware: see signature Docker containers: binhex-delugevpn cadvisor Dolphin Duckdns Krusader PlexMediaServer PlexPy VMs: 1x Win7-64 1x Win8 Plugins: CA Auto Update Applications 2017.11.23 CA Backup / Restore Appdata 2017.10.28 CA Cleanup Appdata 2017.11.23 Community Applications 2018.01.20b Dynamix Active Streams 2017.04.24a Dynamix Cache Directories 2016.08.26 Dynamix File Integrity 2017.12.05 Dynamix SCSI Devices 2017.06.05 Dynamix SSD TRIM 2017.04.23a Dynamix System Buttons 2017.12.30 Dynamix System Information 2017.11.18b Dynamix System Statistics 2018.01.20a Dynamix System Temperature 2017.12.06 Enhanced Log Viewer 2017.12.16 Fix Common Problems 2018.01.21 Nerd Tools 2017.10.03a Open Files 2017.06.21 Preclear Disks 2017.11.14 Statistics 2017.09.22 Tips and Tweaks 2018.01.04 Unassigned Devices 2018.01.09b User Scripts 2017.11.18 towermediaserv-diagnostics-20180125-2020.zip
  11. Negative...my syslog is still being constantly spammed with these errors. I'm not technical enough to figure out a way to fix this myself. I doubt LimeTech care enough to devote cycles to add a fix for such an old card, so we will probably just have to live with it. If you end up finding a solution please let me know! Thanks
  12. Apologies if this is not the right forum/thread for this question but I'm not sure where to start. I did not set a proper 'minimum free space' setting for my Torrents share (I had it set to 10GB) and I guess I started downloading a ~50GB file which of course was placed on a disk that had less than 50GB of free space. I got a disk utilization alert and figured out the problem and shut down the Deluge docker before it completely filled the disk (<5GB free space remain). My question is...What are my options here...can the file be moved to another disk and continue downloading? Do I have to delete the file manually and then restart the download over again? Is there some other way to handle this?
  13. I know the dashboard shows a green thumbs up if SMART status = PASSED, but I am looking for a way to automatically monitor disk SMART data, alert me if any of my specified SMART attributes increment, and track the dates/amounts an attribute increments over time. Looking for something ideally that can plot it out on a graph so it is visually easy to see status for the whole machine at a glance and also see when changes took place. I don't like having to manually check constantly and keep track of it over time...it's a PITA. My linux skills are VERY basic. Is there anything out there that can do this?
  14. OK now I'm having another problem...not sure if related or what...GUI is super slow...When I click the "Log" button it is basically spamming the following nonstop. I tried to stop the array but it couldn't stop. So I did a "shutdown -r" and it rebooted, as soon as it came back up the same messages started spamming again. I have no idea what to do here...any guidance is much appreciated!!!

After the OOM crash yesterday I added a variable to the binhex-delugevpn docker to limit RAM to 2GB since this container was very active at the time of the OOM crash and I figured that was the most likely culprit since I rarely have any issues when it's not active. I also had a win7vm and win8.1vm running, and official plex docker. Any help is much appreciated. towermediaserv-diagnostics-20170228-2041.zip
  17. Parity check takes about ~22 hours....it's on hour #18 and I need to reboot to get video back to my LibreElec VM for movie night. Can I reboot now and have the parity check resume where it left off?

Jan 20 17:31:10 TowerMediaServ kernel: scsi_io_completion: 8 callbacks suppressed I found a handful of other threads and they all seem to say the error is benign - something relating to the kernel trying to access the drives directly for the temperature but the controller doesn't pass through the command. Temps don't work in the GUI but I can get them via SSH and running the SMART commands manually so that's not huge deal. I'm not experiencing any negative symptoms other than these annoying error messages in the syslog...depending on what the server is going I could see as much as 40-50 lines of this in the log every 5 minutes which means it's really easy for the noise to obscure any actual important information. Is there some way to either prevent them from happening in the first place....or to prevent them from showing up in the syslog?
  19. I am also interested in knowing whether this is on the roadmap for official support or even what existing 3rd party options there are for unRAID 6.2.4.
  20. Hello, is this still a thing? I have a 3ware 9650SE-24M8 card and would like to be able to monitor SMART via the web gui.
  21. I do have another SSD I was planning to use for cache pool. I thought my proc had VT-d but it looks like I got that confused with VT-x. Damnit. I do have another PC in the house that looks like it would support VT-d. I can probably use that. -- Intel DP55WB mobo (supports VT-d) -- Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz (supports VT-d) -- Radeon 5850 GPU --4GB RAM (I'd have to buy/add more) My only concern is that this other proc is old as hell (purchased October 2009) and it's a discontinued socket (LGA1156) so when it fails I'm stuck buying old overpriced replacement parts. If my hardware fails and I decide to buy all new latest-generation mobo/proc, can I just plug the existing unRAID disks and flash-drive and have it all work on the new hardware or is the install tied to the mobo somehow? Would I have to start over w/ my VMs as well or just update the configs for the new hardware? Really want to utilize existing hardware....but if it's going to end up causing me a huge headache down the road then I'll suck it up and buy new gear now. What do yall think?
  22. My current setup which has been running strong for 4-5 years: --mobo- ASRock Z77 Pro3 --cpu- i5 3570k --gpu- HIS 6570 Silence 2GB DDR3 PCI-E DVI/HDMI/VGA --RAM- 16GB --RAID card- 3Ware 9650SE-24M8 24-port ------10TB Raid 5 only using 12 disks right now --OS disk- 320gb SSD --Win7-64 running the following: ------Plex Media Server (serving anywhere from 0-3 local or remote clients at once, include often transcoding) ------Plex Home Theater - have this running on 2nd monitor aka my home theater projector ------BlueIris w/ 5 Hikvision 1080p cams @ 20fps, direct to disc enabled, using motion sensing feature to trigger recordings. This needs to be running stable 24/7 ------HomeSeer HS3Pro (home automation software) this needs to be running stable 24/7 The plan My plan is to add another 12 disks and move to unRAID, then run one or more windows VMs on top of it for the software use-cases described above. I've never run unRAID and never set up or used a VM, but I'm pretty savvy and have read up a bit and looks like something I can figure out. Questions: My hardware as it's currently configured can handle all of the software use cases above fairly easily, I rarely have performance issues. Does that mean I will likely have the same luck when those programs are running on windows VM(s) on top of unRAID? Does this sound like something that unRAID and my hardware can handle? Are there any specific issues that I could encounter? Anything specific I should be keeping in mind as I begin setting everything up? I need to be able to use my video card's HDMI output to feed my home theater AVR and projector 1080p video and the latest and greatest audio formats. This shouldn't be a problem to do through a VM right?
