  1. Nope - seems to just log all the failed logins which is fair enough - I dont think its been intended for using a public IP - but given how great a system it is it should be!
  2. Its not an experiment to see how quickly it gets hacked - its an experiment to see if it can be a viable media server. If its properly firewalled then I think it will work well. But all the points on it not being hardened are well noted.
  3. Firewalled off Port 80 to the single IP I'm using (hard as I'm not on a fixed connection) and its much better. Must be being hammered with login requests Thanks China.
  4. Its normal for all servers to be under endless attack though.. Anyway - this thread was about Plex - not about hack attempts which I expect and can fend off with some well crafted firewall rules for filtering on source IPs. I've never tried running unRAID on a public IP before so its interesting to see if it holds up - its just an experiment and no critical data on there - if it can't cope I'll just revert back to Ubuntu. Thanks though.
  5. Yes I opened up the SSH port post install (after I'd locked things down) and noticed the ssh login requests coming in thick and fast! I'd already changed all the passwords and then locked down the SSH port again as I was building the server while mobile so my IP was changing. I might move the unRAID port to non-port 80 and see if that helps - perhaps the authentication page is being hammered with scripts trying to login? Thanks for looking at diags.
  6. Thanks for the reply. Diagnostics enclosed. I've installed a few docker containers - but otherwise its pretty clean server still. From the very outset the unRAID UI was sluggish - docker containers are not however. I use unRAID at home, this is my first go at a remote unRAID server. Thanks.
  7. Its via Hetzner so they give you a firewall. I was sure to enable the firewall for access from my IP address only.
  8. I have a remote unRAID server that only has a public IP assigned on a dedicated server - I can install the Plex docker ok - but I can't seem to adopt the server into my Plex account when I login through the WebUI. I believe this is because of the public IP address as I seem to remember the first login needs to be on a local subnet before you can then enable remote access in the server settings once its linked to your account. Is there anyway of adopting the server with this configuration - I'm assuming this is something to do with the Plex token? Thanks!
  9. Hi, I've installed unRAID on a hetzner hosted storage box by having them install a 16Gb USB key onto the server and then me installing unRAID through an Ubuntu LiveCD . I want to use it as a general cloud media server etc. Install went fine, but Ive found the interface is really laggy - taking 10 - 20secs between changing interface options. I've checked everything I can think of, memory looks fine, top shows totally idle CPU, did a bunch of disk tests on the USB key. If I install some docker containers they all seem to run fine, nice and fast interfaces so its only the unRAID control panel that is running slow. I'm a bit out of ideas - my instinct is the USB key but doing some disk read tests it was solid. Also rolled back to 6.3.2 no difference. Any ideas on where to go from here in diagnosing the issue? I'm considering wiping the USB key with a full format and trying again but its quite a lot of effort to do that! Thanks.
  10. So I started using this Docker which looks really cool, but I had a couple of questions as I don't think its working quite right? 1. Initial install works great - but if I stop the Docker and Start again I never get the WebUI back again? It works great all the way up to me needing to stop/or restart then it never comes back. 2. Where is the config saved? Any updates to the Docker such as changing between Host/Bridge mode reset the Dvblink config. Realise this is still very early - but would appreciate help with this as its working great with my DVB drivers build of Unraid. Thanks,
