  1. 👍 any suggestions from the community on how to prevent or recover quickly from a failed/corrupted Unraid USB boot drive?? I wonder if the unraid team is looking to introduce a feature to have a failover boot USB similar to FreeNAS feature...that would be pretty awesome enterprise class feature.
  2. Hello again, The error went away after I updated FCP to 2022.3.13 and rescanned. The release notes for this version states "Don't scan plugins folder for corruption tests". So not sure if the error/corruption actually still exists and FCP is just excluding to scan the plugin folder or there is no corruption to worry about, but then why exclude specific folders by default??
  3. Hello Folks, My unraid server started showing the following FCP error "Your flash drive has possible corruption on /boot/config/plugins/dynamix.schedules/dynamix.schedules.cfg. Post your diagnostics in the forum for more assistance". I have downloaded the diagnostics report (attached here)...and I am keeping the server ON until I have captured all information, screenshots, diagnostics, copy config files and formulated a plan on how to fix the issue before I reboot the server and find that it wont reboot for whatever reason. Appreciate any help or guidance on how to proceed forward. Thanks in advance. tower-diagnostics-20220308-0943.zip
  4. Gentlemen - that is good input. I will try that. thank you. @unevent - I have tried asking them for the login details for that ISP's wifi device and they have declined to provide. which is one of the reasons i hate this ISP, they want to control everything.
  5. This is a good question...I have a subscription of PIA..I think my Asus router supports Openvpn as well. Will have to give this a shot...will report back. are you sure they are using a double NAT, could be your modem is not in bridge mode. Hamachi/teamviewer/logmein works because it tell the app to open a random virtual port to allow connection (or something like that). i think it is a double NAT. i dont have a modem...the ISP has provided an access point device in the apartment. which provides wifi coverage and ethernet ports. i dont have login access to this access point so i can't change the routing mode to bridge. If i connect directly to this access point , my computers gets an IP such as 172.10.xxxx where as if I check whatismyipaddress - the public IP is 209.34.xx.xx. (there is no upnp enabled as well) the wifi from this access point sucks a**...so I have connected my own 802.11n dual band wifi router to it. My router gets 172.10.xxxx on the wan side and then my router assigns 192.168.xx.xx to my computers. This is my understanding of a double NAT.
  6. Hello - First off - thanks to this community admins and members - everyone here is so helpful and responsive. So here's the problem: My ISP does not allow any port forwarding nor does it offer static/public IPs on request or for payment. I believe the ISP has setup a double NAT (i say that because I can see that my router is assigned a WAN IP such as 172.10.xx.xx where as when I check whatismyipaddress i see an IP such as 209.34.xx.xx) I run a plex docker on my unraid box. It works amazingly well with all the client devices within the home network. But I am unable to access it outside of the network, as you can guess. Now FYI - I am able to access the windows devices from outside of the network using Hamachi. (created a hamachi mesh network and added the windows laptop and my smartphone as clients - so the smartphone is able to access the windows laptop from outside home network) I was looking for a similar setup with hamachi for unraid box, did not find any plugin / docker for hamachi in v6. So is there any solution for this problem. ( i really hate this ISP, but i have no other choice) appreciate the help.
  7. Testdasi - your idea is the closest to what i need. it would allow me to burn / access bluray through the VM when the situation demands. I will try this let you know how it works. Still can't think of a solution to share the BD drive itself over the network so that all computers can access the bluray (most laptop these days dont have any optical drives) - so i think this could be a valuable feature. tks.
  8. Hello - requesting a docker for Hamachi. thank you.
  9. hello, just checking if the docker for logmein hamachi is available now. i would be very thankful to you since my isp does not allow any port forwarding. i did not find it through the community applications tks
  10. I am evaluating Unraid v6 as the system for my new raid. (still in trial period) So far all the raid and pooling features are working well as expected. So here is my question. i have a sata blu ray burner drive and I am wondering if it is possible to add it as an unassigned drive and share it over network. I am thinking it would be good use of this hardware, otherwise i dont have any other system to read blurays/dvds. worst case scenario I will have to buy an external enclosure like this: https://www.amazon.com/Vantec-5-25-Inch-Enclosure-Interface-NST-530S3-BK/dp/B0093HKFYW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466979785&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+enclosure+for+dvd+drive appreciate any help / advice.
