  1. Hi,

just would like to ask if i understand this correctly, as soon as i setup an docker with an sep IP adress its not able to communicate with other dockers or the host anymore ?

    example (unraid is 192.168.1.2)

apache (mainly as reverse proxy for)

    plex

    tvheadend

    guacamole

    unraid webgui

    ...

as soon as i put apache for example on an sep IP (192.168.1.12) i would have to put all on sep IP adresses so they can communicate with each other ?

one thing i would loose for sure then would be to have unraid webgui behind my reverse proxy cause there seems to be no way to reach the host anymore ?

the rest could be solved by putting them all on sep ip adresses (in the same netmask 192.168.1.x).

thanks ahead for an info if i see this correctly ?

I almost said RTFM, but now I don't have to :D

You do get the choice to choose branch when installing through CA, but no choice when it's already installed. Then you have to add the tag yourself.

The release-4.2 will get whatever the latest stable for 4.2 is.

RTFM ...it would have been the right answer ... i know ;)

and i ve choosen 4.2 and its perfect as before, thanks again.

    Have a good weekend

yep, noticed the change as well. since then, safari (on macOS) also only shows the epg-tab – nothing else (and btw. it even takes firefox a second or two before it displays the other tabs). before that change, both browsers did show all tab instantly.

true, the 1-2 sec. delay is also here when using IP directly ... reverse proxy as mentioned above ... chrome and IE.

what i also see is when keeping the epg window open it refreshes every few seconds and .. may that helps figure out ...

  4. Hi, as im running TVH behind my apache reverse proxy and it seems to be broken since update from 04th or 5th august (only working EPG window) i would like

to ask if there is a way to rollback to a "older" build ?

i guess TVH changed something with their http header ...

it works when i use IP:9981 (internal and external), but not when i use my reverse proxy anymore ... then only EPG windows ...

    thanks ahead fo an tip.

I'm trying to get tvhproxy working but Plex doesn't find it, makes no difference if I supply it with the IP address of the docker.

If I go to http://192.168.1.159:5004 (the IP address I have assigned to tvhproxy) with a web browser it returns a 404 error which the tvhproxy docker logs show so it's kind of running but something isn't right. Does anybody have this working?

yes, i guess u have a common setup as i do, plex, tvh and proxy all on unraid, if u assign a ip to tvhproxy it cant be accessed by the other dockers, i assume some sort of security,

u need all dockers assign an ip ... tvh, plex and tvhproxy, then it works.

the webgui of the proxy (192.x.x.x:5004) will always end up in 404, doesnt matter.

So in short, the issue is specific to UEFI boot when you create a Windows VM and pass through the integrated graphics device.  Does the mouse disappear if you use a different OS for the VM?  Perhaps something Linux based?  This would be helpful to know.

    good morning

so, i gave it another try now and sadly cant give any feedback with ubuntu.

    6.3.5

1st, installed a ubuntu VM and tested function, all fine.

    upgrade to 6.4rc7a

    boot legacy

    win10 vm, all good

    ubuntu vm, all good

    boot uefi

win10 vm, 1st no boot screen, 1st screen i see is the logon screen, nvm, but still no visible mouse (working but invisible)

ubuntu vm, no boot screen or any screen at all ... i see monitor turns on, but stays on black screen ... so cant tell if theres a mouse or not ;)

tried then several mashine types up to 2.9, no change ... screen stays black ... also no log entries ...

    sorry ...

i ll give it a try on sunday (working till saturday here), and as my VM´s also gets messed up on upgrade (somehow the harddrive assignements doesnt keep saved) its not a quick switch and back for me ;)

    thankf for taking a look

Any manual changes to the xml are lost if you make any changes to the template.

i know that all xml manual changes are lost when using the template, but here its currently that especially the disk settings are "resetted" ...

always go back to "auto", roughly the correct path seems to be there, but it doesnt boot ... always flickering screen on memtest, says mamtest ok, and so on ... but really flickering,

    completely out of sync.

update, just downgraded to 6.3.5 and VM booting again, just as note, sadly log doesnt say anything decent ...

  9. Hi,

i changed from legacy to uefi and now on my VM (win10) my mouse cursor dissappeared, only way to see it to activate the mouse tracker ...

booting is a bit faster, also no windows logo on boot, that doesnt matter ;)

may someone with an ides, i ll test some bios settings about fast boot and so on to check ...

    thanks ahead

    Update

    ok, tested now several things.

ahead, this only happens on IGD Intel (in my case KabyLake 7700) passthrough VM, not on Nvidia GTX1070 VM.

turned all fastboot options off, always same behavior, no more mouse cursor visible, usable but not visible (only when enabling mouse tracker).

also no windows boot screen on uefi boot, only black and then the logon screen appears, not a real issue but may come together ...

cause the VM booting shouldnt be affected if the Unraid OS is loaded by uefi or legacy i assumed.

back to legacy boot now and all is fine again, visible mnouse cursor and boot screen ...

btw, seems with 6.4 the "scrambled" boot screen from before driver loading on Intel IGD is also fixed, very nice ;)

so now u can install the OS directly withouth starting with VNC unless u want to "click and try"  ...

i ll test this again when next releases come up, for now i stay on legacy.

my goal was if i could speed up the boot sequence with my Emulex 10gb NIC, but didnt change anyway, so nvm ;)

  10. thanks, i ll rather stay on 1500 ... dunno if all clients etc can take 9000 properly.

now last step is somehow get the card boot faster, takes > 2min to pass init screen, no real big deal cause server shouldnt reboot to often, but ... ;)

thanks again for all the advices and help.

  11. ok, i may will try then another card an no intel currently.

HP CN1000E 2x 10Gbit SFP+ looks ok, based on emulex wich should be quite compatible.

    Thanks for the infos

  12. @limetech, thanks for the info, so i can stop trying atm.

just to clarify for me, when i read this now correctly, currently no intel will probably work, also not an "unbranded" one.

another option would be the Synology E10G15-F1, its the same as Tehuti TN9310: 10GbE SFP+, just different color.

may i ask about the brocade one (i had before but also no driver support), may gets added in 6.4 ?

roughly i already bought me passive cables and i think the brocade only runs with active ;)

cause the mellanox ones ... are not compatible with my board, system stalls on boot completely.

    thanks ahead.

  13. tried now all kinda usb live dists ... none really working properly on pc, i assume the 2 GPU´s are not nice for live ;)

stick working fine on laptop ... i ll check again when i get the stick running.

when i check your link, all i see is the modprobe sfp edit wich i already tried, anything else i could test in ubuntu enviroment when im in there ?

i get the stick running without persistent mode, so i could check some more exept the modprobe ...

  14. thanks for the links, but thats not my skill to check the unraid kernel if that driver is loaded or if its in the right place ;)

also i dont see any error message that the sfp module would be unsupported ... all i see in syslog is the modprobe command ... but no respond or anything.

so i ll try to get another replacement with an original not branded Intel card, may that will help if its not from supermicro ... cant really imagine that there should be any difference,

    but who knows ;)

thanks again for the advices, sadly no luck here

are you running this command with sudo?

    the modprobe command, yes

    the lspci -v not

    now sudo lspci -v

i added the onboard ethernet in paste, there is the kernel driver loaded, but not for the intel one,

i guess i just have no luck with NICs ...
