@tjb_altf4certainly - thanks for lending a hand.
This is what I have configured in proxmox for my unraid machine:
I just booted it back up, and it reboots almost exactly 5 minutes after first boot. That certainly aligns with the theory it is a preset timer, like a watchdog timer, being tripped.
Try changing "Processors" to the following

Can you post a screenshot of the proxmox hardware config page for the VM?
What kind of hardware is Proxmox running on?

Ahh, unfortunately none of this was mentioned in the installation tutorial. Ok, so I have paused the parity sync. Would you recommend that I:
1. Resume it (17.9% complete, estimated 12 hours to go.) Doesn't seem prudent.
2. Cancel it and then:
A) remove the parity drive from the array and reattach it after adding data to the data drives.
B) remove all drives from the array and run preclear* on all of them now, then add the data drives back to the array, add data to them, and then reattach the parity drive.
If it matters (it probably does) the drives were not new and were previously used in a Drobo (I know, I was young and stupid) so they do/did have data on them previously and were not wiped before being added to the Unraid array.
* there are two versions of preclear in the app repository. One is called binhex-preclear and is in Binhex's repository, and the other is called Unassigned Devices Preclear and is in dlandon's repository. From their descriptions they appear to have similar functionality but I was wondering if one was recommended over the other. Oh and I just noticed that the first one is a Docker container and the second is a plugin, and I honestly don't know the difference between the two.
I hope I'm not asking too many questions, I appreciate your help.
One massive advantage of binhex-preclear is you can preclear on a non-unraid system.
Plugin integrates better with the UI, but core functionality is on par.
Both are based on evolved versions of the original preclear script from many years ago.
I personally use the plugin, and really only for stress testing as most of my drives go into pools (patiently waiting for multi array!).

Have 2x Unraid instances (and some other VMs) under a single Proxmox server, running about 1.3 PB without issue for the last 12 months.
All storage is passed through via HBA / PCIe, so just as easy as bare metal to manage and could be reverted easily if needed.- 1

(in dark mode) bold pure white text in topic search is difficult too read... contrast is too high and defeats the benefits of using dark mode IMO, the off white shades used elsewhere is much better.

Hello everyone,
I inserted this command in the GO file and everything works, now in ProxMox i see the IP address.
However, in the unRAID LOG I see that every 10 seconds or so it continues to write: Mar 25 16:16:22 Riddler qemu-ga: info: guest-ping called
Is all this normal?
Thanks in advance!
Late reply I know, but this is normal, but should only happen while Proxmox UI is open and focused on that VM.
Close the Proxmox page and it should stop the pinging

Biggest red flag here is to the best of my knowledge, updates are never released without versioning, which implies no security updates.
What plans are being implemented for managing security updates?
Not sure if this has been clarified yet, but similar subscription/support models I've seen elsewhere give free patch level upgrades, e.g. if your support period ends on 6.14.x release, you will get any .x updates included, but you can't go to +6.15.x without renewing.
This is what I hope LT will adopt for Unraid, and will actually make certain versioning decisions more important for them in regards to support and revenue.- 3

I'm happy to see this change as it will give Unraid the resources it needs to really shine and iterate new features and all the other things we all want.
Also grateful that the licencing model doesn't penalise for time missed, Atlassian used to do this for their self hosted software and I hated it to the nth degree.
Now get cracking on the multi array release please

going down this rabbit hole as far as it goes lol.. I’m running unraid in proxmox all seems well. But now I wanna connect to nfs.
Is it done? And if so how?
Use unassigned devices plugin to mount the smb or nfs share to unraid (appears under /mnt/remotes).
This can then be mounted into the docker using the usual options.
Of course most new synologys have the capability to run docker, and you might be better of running deluge directly on the synology to avoid complexity. -

If there is a dev reading, can we get the option to get missing episodes back into the list so we KNOW we are missing something?
Definitely one for the Emby developers over on their forum if you don't like the changes, but you can still see missing episodes, but it has been moved to the 3 dot icon:

I see this docker requires as many as 7 ports to be mapped. In the settings they are just called Host Port 1-7.
1. Can you please give them meaningful names?
2. Until then, can you list what they're for?

Is it possible to modify the disk labels auto created by Unraid for disks on main?
I have some new white label WD HC550s, and some are showing with a slightly different model name layout, even though its same model as others.Alternatively, any utilities to modify properties of the disk itself?
Just looking to appease my OCD tendencies, this is not breaking anything.

@tjb_altf4: Thanks for sharing! I'm owning also on 920q and a 330p.
Could you please tell me which parts you have used? e.g. the small board for the SATA connectors?
Thanks a lotNo problem
- sata adaptor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MSWNF7X
- short sata cables https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075H5ML4B
- sata power was a modified one of these https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Power-Splitter-Adapter-PYO4SATA/dp/B0086OGN9E
Other pieces were 3d printed, but thick double sided tape would work also I'd imagine -

I made a change to view cpu details and graph separately. It allow to view the graph only, or cpu details only or both.
This change seems to have been reverted at some point in 6.12, no way to get cpu graph only anymore.

I have a Mac with 10GBps link, transfer speed is fine. The issues come when you have a folder with like over 300 images. Is it possible for you to confirm no issues in this scenario
that is a generic smb problem, this post has some suggestions for improving performance

I looked at doing something similar to what you described earlier in the year, but I ended up taking a much simpler route with a pair of 1.6TB PM1735 pcie add in cards, which hit my size and performance targets, for a reasonable price all things considered.
This is the ebay listing I bought them from https://www.ebay.com/itm/166082555920

CUPS seems to support it (available as a docker), but I know people have hit and miss luck with that... perhaps as a plan B you could setup a VM and get the OS to share out the printer.
-
Yes you need to use macvlan if you want unique mac address per container, otherwise they will share the nic's mac (ipvlan setting).
The caveat being macvlan historically has caused some instability in some systems, although that seems to be largely fixed in 6.12+ -
Asked for the same thing (and a little more) 3 years ago, and still think its a good idea

I approach this by configuring a DHCP reservation in the router, and leaving the OS in DHCP mode.
Note that you can get the MAC address needed for the DHCP reservation from the VM template.

So any melanox card based on QSFP+ will be compatible with Unraid but if it's based on infinitiband I could have problems?
like these would be compatible?
Mellanox CX314A MCX314A-BCCT ConnectX-3 Pro 40GbE Dual-Port QSFP PCIe Card | eBay
Mellanox ConnectX-3 MCX354A-FCBT CX354A VPI 40/56GbE Dual-Port QSFP Adapter 789398906032 | eBay
Just don't get an infiniband only card, QSFP+ is just a connector/cable and can be used for either protocol.
This one does both modes, you may to change modes to use when setting up.
This one is ethernet only.
Note the final character of the model (T or S) means the bracket height (Tall or Short)- 1

Apologies you can leave cpu type as "host", but otherwise rules out that being the issue.
Most of your settings are the same as mine... only other suggestion is to ensure "Ballooning Device" is unchecked in Proxmox vm memory options, possibly pump this up to 6 or 8GB if you have the spare memory especially if you are running more than pure storage on it e.g. docker.
5 min is not very long, are you actually getting into Unraid at any point?Does the console show the boot process finishing?
