Hey thanks for the shoutout Raj, actually the case comes with 6 built in hot swap bays but I chose to buy another 3, total for the case and 9 hotswap bays plus the extra comes out to about $150 shipped in the US. The extra is a trayless monoprice one. So basically I have 9 bays for HDD and 1 for parity. In the future I plan to add 5 3 in 2 for a 15 drive max but I would have to switch out alot of parts to make that happen.

Are there any 5 in 3's that do not require me to bend down the tabs on my case to install?

How about the Zalman MS1000 + Extra ZM1 hotswap cage, its got sound deadening and 3 x 3 hotswap bays granted not at the density you may want but for a budget build you can get a 9 bay hot swap MS1000 OTD for about $220 shipped. A Helios plus 9 monoprice hotswap racks with no fans for the HDD comes out to $190 give or take $20 for shipping, its pretty close....

Yea looks like im going with the 2x 2 sata pcie from monoprice, no bottleneck plus its cheaper. But hey I wonder how can the Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 work off a pcie slot and not have a bottleneck with 8 sata going into it? Thanks

If you can use two of the pcie cards on the biostar board why do you not rccomen that in your budget build? You reccomend two different 2xsata addons? Any cheap and good recommendations for a 4 Sata PCI Card, I noticed the one on Monoprice http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10407&cs_id=1040702&p_id=2667&seq=1&format=2 was not one of the ones you recommend. Any particular reason? I ask because I want to build a 9 Drive system with the biostar board you recommend with 6 sata onboard. So to get 3 more sata I would need to add at least 2x the 2 sata card you recommend but the board only has one PCIe slot. Help? Thanks
