Does Disk 1 always spin up when Parity Disk spins up?
221bBS replied to mgworek's topic in General Support (V5 and Older)
Have you checked to see if they're on the same spinup group? Go to the Main page and click on the parity & disk1 links. You can also disable it in Settings. -
No, but I recommended you do.

I don't think you can stack this with the other $10 off one. The other code is for new customers. This is a general code for anyone to use. -

Use promo code EMCKEHF22 for another $10 off -
Thanks, I figured that it might help others set up there servers but it will also help me if something goes wrong with my server and I need some sort of reference to help to troubleshoot. I've added a link to the perl addon in Components, Part 2 and also updated Building My Server, Part 2. Created my own MySlots image and attached the file I used to create it.

The bracket doesn't help with the noise but the fans you buy for the brackets might. Most of the noise comes from the 2 rear fans. They're very powerful and loud!

Take a look at J. River Media Center: Media Network Wiki. It might do what you want and more. This is a windows only software. -
Just copy the preclear_disk.sh file to the directory.

[SOLVED] Syslog/Smart status errors
221bBS replied to 221bBS's topic in General Support (V5 and Older)
Thanks for taking a look, got a little worried when I saw the errors. -
Try the Nexus line you wont be disappointed. I just looked at the Nexus 120 Fan and it seems like it wouldn't do the job. I would think I need a fan with at least 47 CFM to equal the air flow of the ones I'll be replacing. I found the specs of the stock fans from here. Mid Fan: Model (Part #): AFB0812H Model (Function): -R00 / -F00 Size: 80 x 80 x 25.4 mm Rated Voltage (VDC): 12 Operating Voltage Range (VDC): 7.0 to 13.8 Input Current (Amp): 0.16 Input Power (Watt): 1.92 Speed (RPM): 3000 Maximum Air Flow (M3/min): 1.000 Maximum Air Flow (CFM): 35.31 Maximum Air Pressure (mmH2O): 4.04 Maximum Air Pressure (IN H2O): 0.159 Noise (dB-A): 31.0 PWM: No Rear Fan: Model (Part #): FFB0812EHE Model (Function): -R00 / -F00 Size: 80 x 80 x 25.4 mm Rated Voltage (VDC): 12 Operating Voltage Range (VDC): 7.0 to 13.8 Input Current (Amp): 0.90 Input Power (Watt): 10.80 Speed (RPM): 5700 Maximum Air Flow (M3/min): 2.270 Maximum Air Flow (CFM): 80.16 Maximum Air Pressure (mmH2O): 20.63 Maximum Air Pressure (IN H2O): 0.812 Noise (dB-A): 52.5 PWM: No

I think you should do both, 2 core and more RAM.
-
Since your array is STOPPED there is no harm is powering off your server with the power button. But try the "reboot" commmand first.
-
How are you preclearing the 2 disk? You should be able to use your array while preclearing. And you should be able to preclear both disks at once. Take a look at How To preclear your hard drives for use in your unRAID servers Mod edit: Fixed broken link to Greenleaf Blog - Raj
