Unmanic install - under libraries click plus to add.  Browse to folder that I wish.  When I get into the folder that I want there is no save button so I click close.  Message pops up:  Failed to save settings and new library cannot be created.

Probably a permission issue on that directory

  2. @Josh.5 It is but it's also available for linux [emoji4]
So I installed steam link with flatpak
    https://flatpak.org/setup/Debian
Once installed, it looks like this,
    https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.valvesoftware.SteamLink
Then you simply pair your steam account to steam link and you have access to your entire library,
basically it looks like steam big picture.

To have steam link start up automatically I created a new shortcut in sessions and startup.
I then added a name, desc, command, triggered on login, image below [emoji4]
    1889388964_steamlinkconfig.thumb.png.5f1d16276db6948048e08fc4a2230fe9.png
    2131139062_steamlink.thumb.png.25e60d68c193da9c1d18eda060e538ff.png

But I would prefer to have steam link as a default instead of me modifying this awesome container you have created.
So you are using steam link through a vnc connection? Steam is playing the game and encoding it to a video. Then you have steam link connecting to it locally and decoding that video. Then you have vnc re-encoding that display again...??? Why would you do this?
  3. Yes it's possible as I've done this.

So I modified the container a bit, it now auto starts with steam link instead,
and is all you need to do is press " Start Playing "
But sadly I still have issues with the sound not getting through,
the thing is I have audio working in local ip + port.
So something is not correct in my rp config...
console says "websocket connection to 'wss://domain.com:32123/' failed

And I have high delay, guess 250Mbit/s just dosen't cut it for game streaming.
However the delay is mostly because of my upload, 1Gb up should work fine as I've tested in my local environment.

But in order to have this working smothly (as it does on the steam link app on ios) I belive a diffrent solution other then noVNC + nvidia gpu, is needed which I am currently using.

Would also love to have the "scaling mode" set to "Local Scaling" as default instead of "none"

I haven't really updated my container in a long time, since i got most of it working as a want but,
@Josh.5 would it be possible to have steam link as a first choice instead of the steam client that was in the container?
How do you start the container with steam link? I know nothing about this. I thought steam link was the app on Android iOS etc....

The issue is that this plugin was never designed to be placed at the end of the plugin stack. It was always intended that other plugins would be run after it.

That being said, rather than me telling you to modify your config, I decided to update that plugin with some much needed improvements.

I've pushed an update (v0.0.4) for that plugin that should give you a few more options. If you update the plugin on your install it should solve your issues. I have also re-written the description a bit, so take a look at that as there is now a new config option.

Let me know if it works for you...

  5. Hi @Josh.5,

Having a small issue, I have had it running for a while now ploughing through my TV Shows. Just when I think it is about to finish it adds another 5k files to the queue. I have just checked and it seems to be adding files it has already done to the queue, to the point the results show the output is the same size and disregards the conversion. Not sure if it is not tagging the files properly or something but I would like to get this queue down to 0 at some point.
Let me know if you need any specific information to find out why this is happening. I have not replaced the files with new ones for any reason so they should be marked as done and not done again.

As per below, I searched the one file and it has shows up 26times. It seems to re-add every 7 days. It is wasting my resources doing this on a weekly basis so if you have any idea that would be great.

    image.thumb.png.0cf683256f5ad1ac4652bda009b0cb13.png
Sounds like you have your stack configured incorrectly. Could you please share a screenshot of your library config and the plugin flow for the library
  6. 265 hevc_qsv (Intel CPU) plugin.
Hoping someone (with unmanic installed) can please have a look at the plug-in and post the tags/av options/commands being used for encoding.
Or point me in the direction of the individual plugin file online, because I can't find them on the unmanic github or anywhere.
NB: I'm on windows and it's not a simple install, nor is there effective instructions on how to get qsv working on Linux (e.g. in VM).
So hoping to test out the compression in windows before I chase trying to get Unmanic working for that plugin.
    Thanks all!
I'm a little confused. Can you not just get the FFmpeg command/params fro the log after processing a file?

The official repo is on the official branch

    https://github.com/Unmanic/unmanic-plugins/tree/official/source%2Fencoder_video_hevc_qsv

You can also install the Unmanic desktop launcher on windows if you don't want to muck around with wsl and docker....

  7. Hi, Patreon supporter here.  For some reason Unmanic became logged out of Patreon, and when trying to log back in I am getting the following error from https://unmanic.app/patreon-login/callback

Internal Server ErrorThe server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

I forgot to respond here sorry. Did you log back in yet? The server was undergoing maintenance this week. I did my best not to affect anyone, but it obviously did affect you sorry.
  8. I finally got around to installing this to replace my Grafana stack. This is really well put together man. Awesome work!

I'm a big fan of AIO containers on NAS devices. It takes the effort out of setting up the application. We are not here using Unraid so we can pretend that its an EC2 instance or VPS. This is a home NAS and your Docker image along with Unraid template has made this setup stupid simple and really clean on my Unraid dashboard.

    Thanks!

I can't find how to add those, am I adding them as a port or a Variable and putting the name like,

    SOMETHING_SOMETHING=
    Then the variable as

    "1234"

These are all variables. When you add them you can modify the ports that internally the services start on.
Port mapping on this template is not going to change anything as the container is running on the host network so it shares the same port availability as the host

Still getting a few stray files (and an entire show) that gets this error:

    2022-04-06T00:07:16:DEBUG:Unmanic.Plugin.reorder_audio_streams_by_language - File unable to be probed by FFProbe - '/library/tv/Terror, The/The.Terror.s01e02.Gore.Bluray-1080p.Remux.mkv'

It does it for Plugin.reorder_subtitle_streams_by_language, Plugin.encoder_audio_aac, and Plugin.encoder_video_hevc_nvenc, which is what I use across my entire collection. Permissions are the same as everything else (folders to 777, files to 666, nobody:users are owner and group)

Start by trying to probe those files manually from a terminal:

    ffprobe -show_streams -print_format json /path/to/file.ext

If that fails, the issue is not with Unmanic or the plugins. If that does give you an output I will need to think further on what it may be...

Yes, but it's a real hassle to unlock them automatically due to the the auto login.

There's a way to do it, but it requires changing config files which won't be persistent.

Additionally, it'd be a nice addition if there's a boolean variable in the docker config that would enable password-protected access to the NoVNC (as well as another option to disable NoVNC entirely).

So what password keyring exactly do you want added. And how do you configure it to auto-unlocks?

Is there a way to change the 8083 port?  I use it for calibre web already. I tried setting a different port on install but it won't resolve to the new port.  Thanks!

You can set any of the ports with there variables:

        PORT_SSH="2222"

        PORT_VNC="5900"

        PORT_AUDIO_STREAM="5901"

        PORT_NOVNC_WEB="8083"

        PORT_AUDIO_WEBSOCKET="32123"

  13. @Josh.5 Any chance you can also implement a Password keyring that unlocks automatically too?

Reason being, I also want to install the Minecraft Launcher, but it saves it's login via the Gnome keyring.
Or if there's a better way I'd be happy to hear that too [emoji6]
You can add your own container init scripts to install any keyring software that you need
  14. It seems that the library scanner is no longer picking up files for me.

I **recently set up Unmanic and it's initially library scan added pretty much everything to the pending task list and after a couple of months (lol) we got through. Unmanic has been idle for some time now, but I noticed that the last task was completed over two weeks ago, when I have added H.264 content in the last few days.

Even manual library scans are not picking up these files.

    I have tried:
    swapping libraries in docker settings
adding library separately in Unmanic itself
    re-installing Unmanic

the problem persists. Hitting the "library scan" button, I can see that it has access to the disk by seeing it go through my directories in the bottom left, but nothing ever gets added to pending tasks. I tried looking online but I couldn't seem to find someone else who is having the same issue. plz help.

You have not plugins enabled on your library
  15. An odd one: I have a TV show that doesn't want to be scanned. The show is named the same format as everything else in my TV shows library, is H264 like everything else before I convert it, but when it's scanned nothing gets added to the pending jobs nor appended to the log, except to say a scan has happened. The shows aren't in the converted history (as having been done/scanned previously), and a restart of the app doesn't seem to fix it.

Here's the relevant lines in the log:
    2022-03-25T20:01:32:INFO:Unmanic.LibraryScannerManager - [FORMATTED] - Running full library scan on library 'TV (specific shows)'2022-03-25T20:01:32:INFO:Unmanic.FileTesterThread-0 - [FORMATTED] - Starting FileTesterThread-02022-03-25T20:01:32:INFO:Unmanic.FileTesterThread-1 - [FORMATTED] - Starting FileTesterThread-12022-03-25T20:01:34:INFO:Unmanic.FileTesterThread-0 - [FORMATTED] - Exiting FileTesterThread-02022-03-25T20:01:34:INFO:Unmanic.FileTesterThread-1 - [FORMATTED] - Exiting FileTesterThread-12022-03-25T20:01:34:WARNING:Unmanic.LibraryScannerManager - [FORMATTED] - Library scan completed in 2.9104015827178955 seconds

For reference, the show in question is "The Terror".

If you enable debugging, you will get a better view of why it's not being added in the logs.

Having the same issue unfortunately. I have the docker image tag set to latest. On Unmanic Version: 0.1.4~655b18b encoding settings save fine but after upgrading to Unmanic Version: 0.2.0+8b88555 I could no longer change any video encoder plugin settings (I am using the nvidia H265 encoder plugin). I pick the options and the option flashes, says saved but never changes from the stock settings. I have tried completely deleting the app data folder, docker image and re-installing from scratch but it will still not change the settings.

Just tried installing other plugins as well such as Remux Video Files, Video Encoder H265/HEVC - libx265 (CPU) and it is not allowing me to change or save any settings either. It does the same thing. Screen flashes, says saved but stays with the previous setting.

    Unraid Version: 6.9.2
    Unmanic Version: 0.2.0+8b88555
    Video Encoder H265/HEVC - hevc_nvenc (NVIDIA GPU) Version: 0.0.10
Thanks for the report. I've pushed an update to fix this issue for you

Thanks for creating this for the community.  Over the last couple of days I have noticed that the file processing has been very slow.  When I clicked into one of the workers tonight I saw this message

"No Plugin requested to run commands for this file"

What would cause this, and how can I correct it.  I haven't added or removed any plugins, and they are all up to date.

Have you recently updated the docker image?

I published a hotfix to the main branch a day or so ago to fix a bug with the `.unmanic` files created in the directories. These are being migrated to JSON, but JSON by default is case sensitive while the INI parser being used previously was not. To maintain compatibility I need to ensure the keys being used in these files are case insensitive. So the fix I pushed the other day does this and should convert any files generated in the past few days since 0.2.0 was released to update all the keys to lowercase.

If you have not updated in the past couple of days, please do so and clear the pending task queue.

  18. On version 0.2.0~a3bd45a, and I'm getting the attached screenshot happening. Constantly trying to load the page sections with no success. Cross-browser. On hitting the Rescan Library button, I get "An error was encountered while requesting a library rescan".

Nothing of relevance in the Unmanic logs themselves, but the docker log showed this:

[services.d] starting services[services.d] done.2022-03-12T21:51:23:INFO:Unmanic.UnmanicLogger - Debug logging enabled2022-03-12T21:51:23:INFO:Unmanic.UnmanicLogger - Initialising file logger. Something has gone wrong with the settings
    .json file.

In your container appdata, edit the file in .unmanic/config/settings.json (or just delete it). The key that is wrong or missing is "get_schedule_full_scan_minutes"

  19. I built an Intel 12th gen (Alder Lake) Unraid server over the weekend and have been struggling to get Unmanic working with Intel QuickSync. When I try to convert a video to H.265 with the hevc_qsv plugin, it immediately throws the following errors in the Unmanic log:

[AVHWDeviceContext @ 0x55eee97f8dc0] Error setting child device handle: -17
free(): double free detected in tcache 2

I have the Intel GPU TOP Plugin installed and --device=/dev/dri in Extra Parameters. Hardware Acceleration with the iGPU is working in Plex, so the issue appears to be isolated to Unmanic. Any ideas for troubleshooting further are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
    I can possibly help...
How did you setup the server to that /dev/dri was available in unraid?
  20. Hi Josh,

    Thanks for this!
I was hopping you could help me with setting up a reverse proxy on nginx for unmanic. I have been trying to do it and I got the webUI to work but it says it cant connect to the backend, any idea?

    Thanks
If I had to guess without knowing what you have setup, the proxy is not configured to support a websocket. In nginx you need to add "proxy_http_version 1.1;"
