  1. All seems good in rc14 to me so far - Thanks Tom
  2. I totally agree. The last 12 release candidates were rock solid for me and any of them could have gone to final. However some of us are having a genuine problem with the lockup on shutdown issue. This happens on a number of peoples systems with no plugins installed. It is a genuine issue and just because you don't suffer from it doesn't mean that is not there. I am surprised at some of the people who are complaining. I would have expected better from you.
  3. Well, that package is from Oct 26, 2008. Many things have changed since then. The package may be making some incorrect assumptions about the current unRaid. It may, or may not have anyhing to do with the problem. It is just an interesting coincidence that of all the people who've reported this problem so far, they've all been using that plugin. I've not got it installed and I have the shutdown problem! I'll try replacing all of the files on the flash-drive when I get home to see if that solves it. It appears to have worked for others.
  4. I know that this is way too late in the day to comment, but it may be a sensible move for the future. Rather than the users treating this Beta and RC software as final, It would help a lot if they did actually help with the bug tracking / solving rather than just saying me too. To that end even something simple like including the :- in the beta / rc's would be helpful. That way it would only be a case of posting the file up after the problem had happened rather than recreating it. We all choose to run the beta software, it is our responsibility to give Tom and the team as much information as possible back to solve the problems. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a complaint about anybody, and the 'me too's' do help in so far as giving some indication as to the scale of the problem. It's just that the more information given the easier the problem is to track down. Good luck Tom, I don't envy you.
  5. Hmm... the 'stop array' problem didn't go away for long. I'ts just happened to me again. It appears to me that powering down the server between the stops and starts makes it much more likely to happen, well in my case anyway. Attached is the output from Barzija's keeplogs script. syslog_2013-06-06_11.23.59.txt
  6. Syslog shows that there was an unclean shutdown previously, with the added issue that the flash drive file system appears to be corrupt. Take it to another machine where you can run Check Disk on it. As others have said, it is best to have a clean shut down, before upgrading. The previous unclean shutdown was due to the previous boot of rc13 failing to stop the array as well. That was the reason that I had prepared as full a syslog as I could achieve. The initial rc13 update was after clean shut down from rc12a. I ran the flash drive through a chkdsk, but no errors were found. Anyway after a couple more failed array stops. The problem appears to have sorted itself out,and rc13 stops and shuts down correctly. Maybe my flash drive is on it's way out or something. Anyway thanks for your time looking
  7. Similar problem as hawihoney - When issuing a stop command the array just hangs and the web interface locks up. syslog attached syslog2 - from telnet as the stop command was issued screen.jpg - photo from attached monitor I don't believe that I have any plugins on the system. All was fine on 5-0 beta 12a syslog.txt syslog2.txt
  8. It may be a stupid question/suggestion, but you're not running the Simple-Features plugin are you? My parity checks drop to those kinds of speeds if the Simple-Features web interface is open.
  9. I hope that a solution to the sloooow parity checks when the web interface is open is included.
  10. If you haven't fitted a DVD/CD in the top blanked off slot, you can fit a 5th HD in there. You just need a sata cablke to the port on the mobo and a molex to sata power vonverter. Instructions are on the interwebs somewhere.
  11. Phew - removing the plugins - snap and ps3mediaserver may have solved the problem. My shares are back Another parity check running, then I'll check if it will shut down nicely. I suspect that it will. Still a bit confused as to what was happening or why unless it was to do with ps3mediaserver writing it's own files?? lionelhutz - thanks I will do
  12. version 5.0-beta 12a First problem with unRAID in 9 months of use. I had a power cut yesterday evening (no UPS). On restarting my unraid box it started a parity check as expected. What wasn't expected was for all of my shares to be missing apart from one, which only had the ps3mediaserver folder and related files in it. None of the other folders or files that should be there. I assume that the ps3mediaserver was created when it started up. I did come across this post- http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=7709.0 where a similar problem occured although that was on version 4.5 Update - 29 errors on the parity check. Then on clicking stop to close down the box lots of Retry unmounting user share (s). The web interface then becomes unresponsive. So time for another hard power off. Started up OK. said that parity is valid. But still no user shares... Tried another stop array, and again It just seems to get caught in a loop Retry unmounting user shares (s). I've had a look on the flash and the configurations for the shares are still on there. It's going to be another hard power off, and try removing the ps3mediaserver and snap plugins and see if it starts up any better. otherwise I'm at a loss as to what to do Log_02-04-12.txt
  13. Thanks, I knew that there must be an easy way, I just couldn't find it.
