yeah said steam was unreachable. honestly ive been backing up my array and think im just going to erase all and do a fresh install of unraid. I think its something with the permissions b/c im finding some other dockers that aren't installing correctly to the hard drive / working. Then just do a regular install like you were saying and modify as needed checking for changes - thanks for the help

Adding a second dns server to the dchp for the client is allowing it to download data ... its having miss(s) in the log, but doesn't seem to be increasing the size of the file. Will wait til its done downloading and see if theres a change. Update - no activity on disk array from it - and seems like its just bypassed the primary dns and went to secondary

Ok i've run that and removed all the '- - -' Also removed all the exceptions for cached servers. Feel like its gotta be something simple but just not sure. For the clients, Im only using the steam cache server for dns w/ no additional entries. Changed its dns as I was getting spotty results with it now. New dns pinging fine heres what the log looks like now - but still doesn't seem to be passing through data. Some of the previous posts show green/red/yellow .. but all I ever get is white.

Thanks for responding - I think it is some permission thing, I wasn't ever able to browse the \cache\ folder. I ran tools \ new permissions on that folder and fixed that but still wouldn't cache. Deleted the folder and started new. Remapped to the docker to add cache folder. Still doesn't work. Tracked down the file permissions, but not sure how to go about changing. If you could lead me in that direction ill try that .

Hi. Trying to get this all working on 6.5.0 . Followed instructions on https://squishedmooo.com/?p=1 and running all three dockers. When using on gaming machine, it returns unraid ip .1.98 and when checking on docker exec -it cache-steam tail -f /data/logs/access.log in terminal I get dns inquires and misses, but no data is downloaded or transferred to the machine. If I select that service to be disabled, it downloads perfectly. I've tried default installed directories into cache and then moved into /steamcache/ share. Any help would be appreciated. config snapshots

hey - yeah it took me probably 10 hours of searching sites, directories and old ftps to get this little thing . You will need a hp proliant ssp installed to usb to inject it. Use the hp usb tool to install spp to a usb - and then navigate to the packages directory ( if I remember all right) and put this file in there. Boot sever from it, and use interactive. Then force select the older bios to install. After that you should be clear of RMRR issues. CP016412.scexe

Taking off the bridge goes back to original error - looks like ill get a Broadcom one and see if theres a better result

From reading back and forth on all this stuff it seems the micro servers have a bunch of problems. On my 580 I had to get an older 2012 firmware to get around the rmrr. Try to look into your bios and see if running the latest version. From there you may be able to change the network over to non shared memory to get past this. Not sure what the success rate is but its a problem with how they use the intel cpus

Picked up a dl360e gen8 for some pfsense passthrough, but having some issues with its iommu groups and not working. Have tried the stub and vfio-pci.ids, with vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1 - neither has worked. I think its a 2014 bios and didn't see a newer one that I could get in the 2017 updates .... passing through a hp NC364T intel 4 port. Do you have any experience with it, or would a dell branded Broadcom work any differently ? Was trying on my 360 g6 but was running into rmrr issues even with a pre 2012 bios .. gave up and got this gen 8, which is great, but would be better if the network card worked ... in ilo its showing about 750w mostly idling on 4 1200w power supplies - the few times I've checked it running vm's and everything - shows about 850 - i thought seemed a little high .. have put it into power saving mode before and went down about 700 ... I've got a couple different ones running ... and all connected into a single wrt54g

oh yeah - got the dl580 g7 working pretty well now. It hangs for about 10-60 mins on the gui when starting - but otherwise is working well. im back for another round this time on a dl360 g6 - downgraded bios to p64 05/05/2011. Put in all the regular tricks to pass through an hp quad intel ethernet card, but keeps coming up with ineligible for IOMMU domain attach due to platform RMRR. using vfio-pci.ids= to exclude each port to pass through on the pfsense vm, plus pcie_acs_override= vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1. Any ideas or has anyone done it ? I've got another slightly earlier bios but it won't downgrade to it w/ some failure to erase bios error.

thanks - ill give that another shot and see I've been using watch -n 1 grep MHz /proc/cpuinfo to watch cpu on ssh - would like to boost and see what it does for some benchmarks

Any ideas on how to get turbo speed to work on cpu ? its enabled in bios and have tried with high performance mode. Have installed tips and tweaks, but doesn't allow turbo setting it seems , from the xeon cpu. turned performance settings on there. Has anyone been able to get it working ?

got it running - more details tomorrow - thanks for helping with it - ill still have to do some tweaking but its all up and running correctly. It was just the bios that was a problem

Hey - i wasn't able to find an earlier bios - i had a 2013 or something on there and updated to the 2016 /17 latest hoping it might work, as was the case w/ g8 and g9 ... but it does not. Do you have a firmware update for the previous bios that i could force ? i tried older installs of unraid and only disabled ethernet, and went to another hp intel nic which worked, but no pass through. I think the bios down grade would definitely help if possible.

I've messed with it a good bit - I've got the latest bios and have sr-iov enabled. Take a look and see if its worth breathing any life into it. If nothing jumps out, I've tried everything i can with it - thanks octalquad-diagnostics-20171015-1104.zip

Ive updated to the most recent bios - found SR-IOV in the new bios and enabled, have pcie acs override on, and the other vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1. Tried the pcie_acs_override= as well. Have disabled the main ethernet in bios , and running off another hp ethernet card, have changed to 6.2.4 but I'm still not getting anything out of it. Would really like to get working if possible but running out of options. Ive looked at the other gen9 instructions, but I'm on a g7 and doesn't align. Any other ideas or directions to go ? I wasn't able to find any pre 2011 bios either.

Thanks for linking to the post - I've done some more work on it and it is a RMRR issue. Looking for a previous bios, currently on p65 on main and backup rom. Trying to find old bios to try loading into it.
