  1. How did you that ? IPMITOOL seems not to be on the website of the Slackware15 packages
  2. Heya guys, the homebridge-hue plugin is too new for the current homebridge-with-gui docker. I get this error: Error: Plugin /usr/local/lib/node_modules/homebridge-hue requires a HomeBridge version of ^0.4.46 which does not satisfy the current HomeBridge version of 0.4.45. You may need to upgrade your installation of HomeBridge. Any docker update soon? :) Thanks and keep up the good work! Tschuki
  3. Hello everyone, first off my specs: unRAID 6.5.2 (but problem exists since I installed unRAID 6.5.0) M/B: ASRockRack - C236 WSI CPU: Intel® Pentium® CPU G4600 @ 3.60GHz HVM: Enabled IOMMU: Enabled Cache: 128 kB, 512 kB, 3072 kB Memory: 16 GB Single-bit ECC (max. installable capacity 32 GB) Chassis: DS380 w/ Cardboard Hack USB Stick: Intenso Slim Line 16 GB The chassis has two front panel USB connectors. The problem: After reboot, I have to switch from one USB port to the 2nd. Otherwise the stick won't register. If I reboot again, I have to switch back to the first USB port (so I ruled out a hardware defect) otherwise boot to BIOS. Rinse and repeat. It was a minor inconvenience, since the server is sitting under my desk UNTIL I was at a LAN Party, where the server area was located in another building. I was running more in 2 days, than in that whole week, since I had to troubleshoot the server but could not ssh into it. A total nightmare. So I am turning to you Any ideas, what this is and how it is caused? Thanks for reading, have a nice day
  4. Hey guys, I am currently at a LAN Party and ran into some problems with my unRAID Server. First issue was that at boot up it stuck at BZROOT. Handled this by replacing BZROOT and BZROOT GUI. Now it boots up (needed to clear CMOS first) I can telnet onto the system, SMB is up too, but I cannot access any shares or dockers / Vms. In addition to that i can just telnet with root, but not with my user. I attached the syslog. Plz help Rgds Tschuki syslog.txt SOLVED: Parity Check...........
  5. Thats exactly the step I was talking about. I kind of think, that when I add the 4*2TB Reds the data will be distributed between all 6 drives (2* 6TB + 4* 2TB)
  6. Thank you for your quick response. Nope no backups. The main issue I have is reassigning a data drive to parity. The data should be redistributed to the added 4*2TB WD Reds before this happens (of course) Is there a way to verify this ?
  7. Hi guys, just got my UnRaid up and running in Trial mode with 2* 6TB WD RED Now I want to migrate my data. Current Config is RAID5 4x 2TB WD RED 2x 2TB Samsung Green with Parity --> 10 TB of data I want to reuse my 4*2TB WD Reds So my train of thought was: Assign the 6TB Reds to the array with no parity Copy 10TB data to UnRaid (no prob since 12 TB are available) Check Data Put 4*2TB WD Red into UnRaid Server Assign 6TB Red to Parity First of all, is this even possible to assign a data drive to a parity drive? What would be the steps in UnRaid ? Thx for your answers appreciate it! Kind regards Tschuki
  8. So...... I got the case at home. Now I am about to pull the trigger on the rest: ASRock - C236 WSI Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard Intel Core i3 7100 2x 3.90GHz So.1151 BOX (this has ECC Support, right ? I googled it, and it seems so) 8GB of RAM , but unsure which manufactorer flat SATA cables PSU https://www.pccasegear.com/products/35146/corsair-sf450-450w-sfx-80-plus-gold-power-supply Also, do I need an SSD Cache Drive ? I see many build guides with them in it. Thanks for the help
  9. Thx tdallen, i know about the cooling issues with the DS380 and I am willing to put some cardboard between I will check out your recommendations! Thanks so much for your detailed reply! You're awesome! And yeah, I'm from Germany
  10. Hello sirs! I need your advice on my planned build. I am coming from a LianLi with 6x2TB WD Reds in NAS4Free and like to go to a more expandable build. I already purchased 2x 6TB WD Reds through a SuperBowl Deal DS380. I am wondering which MB, RAM and CPU I should get. Also, do I need different coolers? I like to use all 8-bays in the case, so the configuration should support 8 SATA Ports. For 8-Ports MBs I just found the ASRock - C236 WSI Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard, which is quite expensive. Perhaps a less expensive MB with a SATA Expansion Card would be better? This NAS should take of: Data Storage with 1-Parity Drive serving as a StreamServer for my Samsung 4k-TV (so usually no transcoding required) serve as a TorrentDL, with automatic episode downloader and sorting in the right directorys (just mentioning it, because I don't really know which dockers could handle it) use a VPN to connect to the outside world serve as a DC+ Server for LANs running 24/7 I know much more is possible with unRAID and VMs, but I cannot think of other use cases right now. Also power efficient silent Any suggestions for MB, CPU and RAM ? Thank you Cheers, Tschuki
  11. Hello tdallen and thank you for your reply, having two servers up at the same time is a situation I'd like to avoid. Nevertheless, my current server and MB do just support 2x SATAIII and the rest of the drives are running SATAII. Currently I get around 100MB/s speed (which is appropriate, I heard) I think I need to upgrade anyways but the disc problem still persists: I could: buy 6x 6 TB Reds, setup a new server and copy the files over (this would require me to buy all new hardware) buy the discs and resilver them slowly using NAS4Free (I would still be using N4F and not unRAID) I have around 10 TB of data I guess I am out of options here.
  12. Hello guys, since my NAS is running full I want to upgrade it. Currently I am running NAS4Free with 6 2TB WD Reds in Raid 5 with one Spare. In addition to that, I mainly use it for Mediastreaming, Torrents and Storage. I installed a VPN using OpenVPN The filesystem is ZFS. If I want to upgrade, I need to buy e.g. 6x 6TB of WD Reds, which is a huge investment on my end. So I stumbled upon UnRAID. Can I import my ZFS into UnRAID and convert it into this JBOD with one parity? (this would allow me to upgrade bit by bit and feel the effects immediately) I searched the forums and I think that Transmission (torrent) will be replaced by a docker called rTorrent. Open VPN is also possible and Plex for sure. How can I proceed ? Cheers, Tschuki
