  1. I have tried downloading the memtest86 from the website. But when I boot the usb i get to use a even older version (4,3) I don’t get a option to use 7.5 for some reason. Maybe the program think my MB is just to old (AsRock EP2C602) 😕
  2. Hello @Frank1940 and @John_M I'm running memtest86, from the unraid boot menu. And I just hit the first pass, it did 13 tests to complete one pass. But I have some minor questions; in the Testing line (just above the Pattern) it says 2048M of 64G. I did not increase when it did the first pass. Do I need to change something or? Seems quite odd to "only" test 2048 of 64G
  3. I am booting unraid from UEFI usb install. And do have ECC memory in my system EDIT: Their website state that they do support UEFI booting and ECC memory from V5 - so will test that this weekend for sure
  4. Sorry for asking a noobish question maybe. But is the memtest build into unraid or do I need to run it from a usb stick with some software on it? Saw some other post where the recommended to run it for about 24 hours. Best regards, Mads Bryde
  5. Hi @John_M I got the error once after the BIOS upgrade, but then it showed socket: 0 - and their is literally no sign of anything in the eventlog 😮 I have no clue what is going on.. But have noticed, that on some rare occasions my motherboard throws a error 60. The BIOS error codes says that it's a memory error, and a recommended option is to reinstall the cpus and clear the CMOS. So maybe I will do that in the weekend. Take out the CPU's and swap them over in the opposite and maybe move tha ram around again. :-S
  6. I think it is the RAM then. Because I switched all of them around like 4 days ago. And the DIMMs location reporter by the log seem to have moved around indeed. But the documentation for the motherboard is not really clear on what DIMM slot is what channel. So maybe I need to do some trail and error and look in the reported installed memory to locate it.. But just flashed the BIOS to the newest version today. They released a spectre and meltdown patch. So will leave it running, until I get the error again. And will post it. But before I flashed it, it didn’t even show anything about memory errors in the event log :-(
  7. @John_M I have some event log from between the 22 and 24. But I had the same memory error last night on the 23 tho i will post a screenshot of my memory section in the bios in a sec - I have switch the ram around, and can see that the issue now is on socket 1 instead of socket 0. So I think it's some of the ram that are failing maybe. Just really hard for me to identifying what stick(s) it is....
  8. Sorry for the slow response. My server went offline while I'm away from home. Not sure if the internet connection dropped, or it is really offline tbh. But will post a BIOS event log when I get home. Just need to find out how to dump it tho. EDIT: Can see their is also a new BIOS update from 26/6/18 - for a spectre & meltdown patches. And improve system performance. So will be flashing that too when I get home.
  9. Will try and look at the event log in my BIOS later today. Really don't wanna send back my motherboard, as it order it on newegg.com and live in the EU. And it's a long times since i bought the RAM on ebay. And the errors came up like 1,5 months ago I think. I should have all the same ram from the same manufactor, bought it all at once, and they have same stickers, and heatsinks on. And within the listed specs from my MB manufactor. And i'm not totally sure about the memory overclocking tho. But I don't think I have any of that activated. Could I post the BIOS event log, and have someone look a bit at it with me or? Best regards, Mads
  10. I keep running it to this weird ram issue, where my log kinda get over flooded with RAM error messages, and don't know why. I have tried switching some of the ram around, but non of it seemed to have worked. Have even tried leaving the system running without any dockers or VM's running. And it still comes up after some time. Sometimes it takes as little as 2 hours to show up. Other times it can take 2 - 4 days. But as soon as it does. I'm hit with a massiv VM performance performance hit. I have a little screenshot and the diagnostic files here: tower-diagnostics-20181119-1555.zip
  11. Hello everyone. I have finally fixed it. The reason why the webgui was not showing up, is that it overwite the network.cfg file with a GUID value from something (no idea what) I installed a new usb, and compared almost all of the files from the two. And now.... NOW IT WORKS AGAIN - and i'm even on 6.6.5, YES SIR! Thanks for all the help! I will from this point on, never update to a new OS without a backup of my USB drive 😮
  12. I'm talking about the files under UNRAID > plugins > apache Here is what it looks like atm for me. the FSCK* files I was told is something unraid does when trying to uncorrupt data on the flash drive. but as you can see. Some of them are now null bytes, and has some weird naming to it.
  13. Yeah sorry about that. But could you maybe help me with the apache folder? Just send it to me, without the .cert files maybe? EDIT: Oh it was just a shell script. Could you maybe zip up the entire folder minus the httpd folder. That one seems fine 🙂 Best regards, Mads
  14. No I came from 6.5.3 to 6.5.5. So I shouldn't have any troubles. Or atleast I though soo lol. And my servername was still the default one: Tower.local. Will post a diagnostics report in a few minutes. Thanks
  15. Lol @itimpi was JUST looking at that usb drive. I think I will order one tonight. I really think I need it. But this thing is slowly killing me by now. Don't get why I'm having so much troubles
  16. UPDATE: I reinstalled unraid 6.6.5 to the same usb stick, and copied over all my config files. And the command line boot for unraid is successful, and I get an ip from my DHCP server. But I cant access the web ui. Not even on the machine itself if I boot into the WebGUI menu. - not even in GUI safemode can I connect to the webinterface EDIT: It even shows up under network drives on my mac. But can't connect to it. UPDATE2: I looked at the config folder again and it seems that some of the apache files got corrupted too. But the flash creator, don't make them from scratch. So can't copy any new ones over @jonp & @bonienl one of you guys much know where I can get my hands on some new ones? - sorry for the ping btw.
  17. Just really a bad time for this to happen. I have some USB sticks. But most of them are 16, 32 and 64 GB. And need them for other things than to host a small OS like unraid. But I think I need to bid the dust, and just order one off amazon or something asap. So I can transfer my license to that one.
  18. Think maybe the USB drive is bad... When trying to copy the big bz* files over. It for some reason eject's itself from my mac and stop the file transfer... So maybe I should find me a new usb drive instead...
  19. Think I will try and just replace the files first. And then if that don't work I will install unraid from fresh and just copy over my config folder.
  20. I could do that too. But do I need to use my transfer license then? Don't wanna waste it if I don't have to 🙂
  21. Alright I'm home from school now. And have been looking a bit at the flash drive and what has come up here. I have made the changes to the drive you have described @itimpi Here are some screenshots. Do they look alright? NOTE: It's just made in a temp folder on my desktop. Don't wanna edit the files on the USB stick before I'm 100% sure. But I have made a copy of all the content on the stick, so I should always be able to return back.. But after copying the files over, I just just run the make_bootable_mac version in the terminal and boot the server up. Best regards, Mads
  22. No the syslinux is their, and it seems to be alright. I just cut the image short, so it would not be to big. Here is a complete list of the files. And the syslinux folder too.
  23. I cross checked the files on the usb vs the zip file. And can se the files on my usb states they are null bytes. So that must be the problem for me. All the bz* files are null bytes but also: make_bootable* and memtest - I should also copy those over, right? Best regards, Mads
  24. Are you sure that would work? I think the update never fully completed as it was saying Syncing for so long. But will try when I get home from school. Got the USB with me. Is their a way to check if it is complete or maybe revert back to 6.3.3? best regards, Mads
  25. Hello, thanks for the responses. I bit the bullet and hard shutdown the server this morning. After booting it up again it had for some reason reset the boot order. After changing it back to UEFI usb boot. It loads the unraid boot menu. But ends up just giving me a Loading /bzimage.... failed: I/O error What to do now? Can load the usb stick in my mac and browse the files. Can I maybe just replace the bzimage file? Or what. Best regards, Mads
