  1. Hey, sorry for the late reply. I ended up buying some new hardware for my main desktop, 13900k, etc which meant the 9900k system was going spare. I repurposed this to be my server. Made a fresh USB for Unraid and went through and manually removed all of the Unraid folders from the array. I suspect a new USB/Config would've sorted it but honestly I was only interested in keeping my media. Normal service has resumed.
  2. I've noticed that dockers seem to take a lot longer to install than I remember. This is a totally fresh unraid install on new hardware. I've just checked all 4 of the array disk speeds and they're normal. I've checked the WAN speed via the speedtest-tracker docker container and that's showing as 1gbit down/110mbit up which is normal. DNS is set to google (8.8.8.8). Any obvious causes for the slow docker installs (once installed they run fine) and the UO issue before I look at getting diagnostics, etc?
  3. Oh, that's what I was getting at. The GUI doesn't load in other tabs until the tab which is doing something finished.
  4. Great, thanks. Couldn't remember if this was the case before or not. Appreciate the reply.
  5. Hello, As per the title really. Is it a feature of Unraid that when a docker container is being installed, I can't open any other part of the UI until it's finished. This includes things like settings, the dashboard, open the command line via the web interface. Is this intended or is something funky going on? It can't be the hardware maxing out on one docker install, it's a 9900k, with 64GB DDR4 2600 memory. The second the docker finishes installing the webui loads. Until then the tabs sit on Loading... until it's finished. No diags at this point as I'm not sure if this intended or not.
  6. Hey there, Thanks for the reply. Anything docker related seemed to be trying to write to the non existent cache drive, even after the new configuration and its removal. it seemed to think appdata was on the cache drive even though the share was told it was only on the array. Even tried using mover etc to see if that would trigger anything to fix itself. The only way I could get around this as a temp measure was to make my own appdata folder and copy the appdata docker folders into that. I had also made sure to remove the docker image and recreate it somewhere other than the cache drive but no joy. I gave up in the end and today I’ve been going through removing everything from the drives, apart from my media folders. I’m then going to make a new USB and start fresh from there. I am hoping within the best hour or so that I’ll have unraid back up and running on better hardware and without any strange issues.
  7. Hello all, So I have 5 drive in my array, four data drives and one parity drive. Last month my cache drive died and ever since then, no matter what I do Unraid continues to try and write to it even though there isn't a single thing that still points to it. I had to manually create an appdata folder one one of the drivers and manually change all of the dockers, it became a real pain. Anyway, I also got some new hardware for my main machine, 13900k, etc so the 9900k machine is now tree to become the server. I'm wanting to do a complete fresh start, but keep my movies, the rest of the data just isn't important. The only issue is that I don't have a spare 4TB drive to copy the movie/tv show data on to. All of the data is stored on a single drive (this was intentional). I'm wanting to remove ALL of the data on the drives apart from my movies, etc. What would be the best way to go about this? The catch is that I don't currently have a spare 4tb drive to move the media and unraid has taken to crashing every 30 minutes or so which would make copying difficult. Is it possible for me to format three of the data drives and start a whole new config including the drive that contains the movies and the three formatted drives, or will this cause issues? I love unraid but I don't fully understand how the data is stored and if this is possible or not. Appreciate any help with this. [EDIT] I did have a little look with the new hardware in tonight but even basic things like "auto start array" despite being on, just doesn't work so I know saving what's there makes sense but I'm honestly losing very little and I'm happy to start fresh on this new hardware.
  8. This has been fixed, faulty memory dimm. Can be deleted, but wanted to update this in case anyone else has a similar issue.
  9. Memtest actually crashed on about the 7th test on the first dimm. It's the oldest memory in the machine by far, got it when x99 first came out (DDR4) Removed it and it's pairing stick and seems to be back to normal. Thanks for the advice. I will try other dimms in the slot to make sure it's not CPU/slot related at some point, for now I'm down to 16GB but it'll do..
  10. Thanks @JorgeB I will give this a shot and report back. I changed the power settings as suggested in the FAQ but it didn't help.
  11. Hello all, Recently my server seems to keep locking up. There haven't been any hardware changes. I have attached the diagnostics file, but the syslog (attached separately) has more information in it, as you can actually see the crashes. I have also attached a picture of the screen when it had crashed a few days ago. I'd really appreciate any input on this so I can get it back up and running properly. jarvis-diagnostics-20230627-1348.zip syslog
  12. Hello all, I've not really had to post here at all as Unraid has worked perfectly, however in the last week or so I've been noticing issues with the UI being unavailable. I've connected a monitor today and noticed that it's crashing and through errors before being able to load fully. I have attached a screenshot of the monitor, apologies as it is a smart phone picture of the monitor but it is readable. I took a look at the diagnostic report, but it only seems to show logs since the most recent reboot which, if it boots correctly contains nothing to do with these crashes. The crashes in the picture prevent the machine from booting at all. I'll have to do a bit more playing around with safe mode and not running any apps, dockers, etc. Is there anything I can edit in the config to disable docker from loading as that is the only thing I can think I might've changed - adding a docker container.. if that could even cause these issues. MSI Tomhawk B450 Motherboard. AMd Ryzen 3600 32GB DDR4 3600 4x4TB drives. 5700XT Graphics Card Appreciate any help.
  13. Hello all, I'm looking at setting up a VM for my sister's kids to use for a couple of the games that they play, such as Minecraft. It would be nice if they could connect from their relatively slow laptops into a virtual machine with much higher spec and be able to play the game(s) without crazy amounts of lag/stuttering and at a higher quality preset. Network. I'm wondering what you guys use to achieve this? Is it Parsec generally or do you have something else (over the network). Physically here. As I have the GPU passed through to the VM, if the kids were here, would I be able to connect a screen to that graphics card, pass through a kb/mouse and they could use it like a normal windows machine? Obviously this won't happen often so I'm not interested the network option but when I tried Parsec I remember it not being great on the quality side of things - even over gigabit internet down on one side and 100mbit up on the other. Appreciate any input. Thanks!
  14. Hello all! First post here so go easy ;). I am pretty new to unRaid but I've setup Intel and AMD based Hackintoshes via clover/opencore in the past. Last night I stumbled upon Macinabox and thought it would be quite cool to add the various distros of Macos as VMs/Containers. I tried following the spaceinvader guy's videos which are always helpful, however I get a qemu error and complaints about libvirtd not being installed or started once I VNC to the container. Other VMs work just fine - so there's no drama there. Anyone know how I might go about fixing this error? Logs from the container doesn't exactly give much away either sadly.
