  1. I am actually just in the process of building a new build so I could just take all the disks out and see if its fine in the new box? extended self-test currently running should I wait for this to complete or can I cancel it?
  2. Sorry to piggy back off this thread but its pretty relevant. I had a power cut the other night as a bulb blew, I don't have a UPS so my server had unexpected shutdown. Parity disk was disabled so I started a parity sync again. Sync completed but drive is still disabled, any ideas what I can do? I need to get a UPS I know and I have write cache and turboboost enabled. Had power cuts before its been fine but this times something has gone wrong. Do I need to completely wipe the parity drive before re-sync? Diags attached. unraid-diagnostics-20180121-1121.zip

    First Build

Theres an on-going argument wether or not ECC RAM is worth it. For me I don't want to risk data corruption of my array, it caused problems with trying to find the right hardware for my new build. Price wise it wasn't hugely different but I have peace of mind that I have that extra step of checking by the RAM. Depends how precious your data is really but as this NAS is my primary backup device I thought it was worth buying. Your CPU supports ECC you just need to find another LGA1151 board that supports ECC. Look at SuperMicro or ASRock boards, price will increase for build but if you want ECC its your best bet.
  4. That Atom CPU will purely be just for a NAS, it may not be amazing for running additional dockers. Then again I have had my HP N40L microserver running for years as Backup device with at least 6 dockers running just fine.

    First Build

The RAM you have picked is not ECC memory I would find some RAM that is ECC.
  6. Yeah I was surprised I could build someone equally powerful as my first list. The Xeon is used so a lot less which was nice! Wow my maths was all wrong lol.. updated original post with price.
  7. Hey man, Check out my latest build this seems to fit just about within your budget and I think will satisfy your needs!
  8. First bits have arrived, all looks well now just waiting on the CPU and Case :). Not the best photo just a quick update. - Asrock E3C222D4U - Kingston ECC Unbuffered 16GB RAM 4x4 DIMM - EVGA 600 BQ Power Supply - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Air Cooler
  9. Edited the OP with more details. Thanks tdallen
  10. So after spending hours of research I finally managed to find a build. This all depended on availability of hardware and price. I struggled to find any boards that supported Coffee Lake or even Skylake CPUs + ECC RAM Compatible it was a real bitch to find something not too expensive. So I have settled for LGA1150. I have drives for the machine to pop in from my old N40L. Build Spec - Motherboard: Asrock E3C222D4U - (£131.59 @ eBay) - Memory: Kingston ECC Unbuffered 16GB RAM 4x4 DIMM - (£88.99 @ eBay) - CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1225 v3 @ 3.20GHz (Used) - (£98.00 @ eBay) - Case: Fractal Design ARC Mini R2 Case - (£75.54 @ Amazon) - PSU: EVGA 600 BQ Power Supply - (£60.90 @ Amazon) - CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Air Cooler - (£24.95 @ Amazon) Total Price: £479.97 I'm really happy with the spec and actually got more features than originally expected, especially the Asrock board with IPMI! Currently my HP N40L does not have iLO or any remote management. The above spec should be a nice boost in performance and hopefully low powered enough to run 24/7. The case should allow me to eventually expand to 6 drives if need be, I have 4 right now but will be upgrading the drives soon. Will post up some shots once I start the build. All parts are ordered just awaiting to get delivery!
  11. Thanks so much this worked perfectly appreciate the quick and detailed response. So far other than 1 of my drives having an unreadable filesystem after upgrading 6.4.0 seems smooth!!
  12. NETWORK ID NAME DRIVER SCOPE f6a3c81e6499 bridge bridge local fcb1743bd326 homenet macvlan local cacc4631718f host host local fb37bf6e1ea2 none null local homenet is the extra vlan I setup for docker containers.
  13. Tried that but no additional field appears. I need fixed IP only for 1 docker really which is pi-hole as that is my DNS server.
  14. Ah yes I did see that thanks. How do you specify which IP address I would like each docker to use?
  15. Sorry guys I should of read the FAQ for posting issues. I have worked out the issue, I had setup separate macvlan for my dockers and it seems that was not copied over to latest upgrade. Will report back shortly after some investigations and if I can re-create it. Thanks FIXED: Re-created macvlan network I had setup to use pi-hole docker with VM service running. All is well. Thanks guys, leaving this here for anyone else who had the same issue. This is the link to macvlan creation tutorial:
  16. All my dockers are broken after updating. Other than that the GUI is SOOO smooth now I love it, thanks team! Execution error No such container
