  1. No resolution is normally set by the OS. The only adjustments on the monitor as far as size goes is aspect ratio. either full screen or 4:3. I would also add when I reboot Unraid the display is correct at first then while booting the display changes to the wrong size.
  2. I am aware of the things that you are describing I believe my explanation of the issue was poor. The display I have is a standard 1920x1080 display. Normally ,lets use window os as an example, if you change the display setting it will adjust to fit the whole screen. On my display the top 1/4 and the bottom 1/4 are black voids so to speak and the center 1/2 is the only portion of the display being utilized. On a reboot I get a message (I think from the display) to make the resolution 1920x1080. I assume this is either an error in the Unraid OS or the GPU as I am unsure how Unraid obtains the information for the proper resolution when connected directly. By looking at the display one can tell it is extremely stretched. It would appear the first number ,the one that should be 1920, is set to a smaller value than the second. Thus making it look like letterbox movie.
  3. Thanks for the explanation that is exactly what happened. I assumed formatting only affected the drive its self, However doing it in the array erased the emulated data. Would you by chance be able to direct me to a solution to fix the display issue on the monitor that is directly connected to the Unraid server? I have had Unraid for many years and never had an issue with the resolution of my display, this is something that had recently occurred. This is the same monitor I have always used and I am unable to find a way to change the display to a normal configuration.
  4. Are you saying that because I formated the drive that is why I lost data? The reason why I formated the drive was after I followed the steps everything seemed to be working as intended, However later I discovered that the drive was disabled and was emulated. I ran some checks on the drive and it seemed fine and that data on the drive was very little. No where close to the 2 something T it had. Then I formated the new drive and tried again. Was this the wrong thing to do? I tried a few other things but was unable to get the red x on the drive to a blue square.
  5. I have noticed that I have l have lost some movie files in Unraid. I came across this by noticing Plex had a couple of movie collections with 0 movies. I did recently replace a 3T drive with a 10T one. Before I attempted this I wanted to copy the drive, However the documentation that I found in the forums on this was very old (around 2016) and in the Unraid guide https://docs.unraid.net/legacy/FAQ/replacing-a-data-drive/ , it only describes pulling a drive and rebuilding it. I followed the method in the link and this is the Only thing that I have done to my server in a few months. My question is there something that I am missing on protecting my data? I have 8 drives and 2 paritys I was under the impression that I would have to lose more than 2 drives before my data would become compromised. Also on a side note is there a way to change the display setting when directly connected to the server? I get a change resolution message on my monitor and almost half of the display is black, like a extreme case of letter box. I have been trying to find a solution for this as well. talonhawk-diagnostics-20240318-1143.zip
  6. I was wondering if it is possible to passthrough an intel A770 to plex for transcoding? I have tried searching but the only soulations I can find are for igpu's. if anyone knows of a link to either a video or webpage it would be much appre4aciated.
  7. Thanks since I already had the port forwarding set up all I had to do was run the container and it worked fine. I had many issues setting it up a year ago and just assumed it was an issue thanks for the speedy reply.
  8. I have rustdesk installed currently on Unraid manually (not through community applications. Unfortunately because of the way it is installed it creates more work to keep going. I am wanting to Install the RustDesk app that you have made but I am having difficulty figuring out how to add my Domain to it. Installing it manually I just had to change the command: hbbs -r <your-cool.server.com>:21117 to my domain but I am not sure how to do this with the community app install. Any advice that you could provide would be much appreciated.
  9. I am Not sure what happened but after I uploaded the diagnostics my eth0 changed to the same network as my eth1 and the GUI started working. I am Going to assume it is some sort of network issue and try to Iron it out. Out of curiosity say my network is down for whatever reason should Unraid be able to boot into GUI ?
  10. talonhawk-diagnostics-20230530-1248.zip thanks here is the diagnostics file. I found a couple of other posts similar in nature and tried the use_ssl no command and it did not work.
  11. Is your server's IP static? If so is the static IP set in Unraid? Your problem seem like another device has the same IP as your server. There are dropped packets in your log, If possible it is better to set up your server's static IP in your router.
  12. I am unable to access Unraid via GUI even directly connected to the server. when I log into the server I get a unable to connect page. This happened after I removed a 5700xt and installed a much older card for server access and a Intel arc A770. All of the docker containers appear to be working fine and I have terminal access. I do not know how to pull a log file via terminal, and did not get any links on how to on a search. I thought perhaps my issue was a DNS problem and that is why I tried to access the GUI directly from the server. I assume that would bypass any DNS problems. I did change the default ports on the server to 4080 and 40443. Thinking that may have been part of the issue I shutdown the server went on the boot usb and changed it back to 80 and 443. I did ifconfig and both of the networks on the server are connected have an ip address and are transmitting and receiving. The old graphic card that I have in there is a R7950 (the 2012 release not the current one), It is the card that I had when I built my first unraid server 6-10 years ago, I assumed it would be fine for GUI access on the server. I am not sure what else to try any help would be appreciated.
  13. Every port does have its own unique Mac. My point was the reason Unraid was showing 12 SYSNICS is because it counted every port on each NIC that I went trough that had its own MAC and retained that info even after reboots. The allocation in Unraid network settings is correct. Also every port doesen't always have its own unique MAC. Some multiport cards have to be split by VLAN. PFsense is not a docker container, as stated above I have a Netgate official appliance running Pfsense plus. I would say that your comment is very rude and if you would have actually read the thread doesn't even pertain to my situation nor is it relevant to what that fix was.
  14. I have 4 Ethernet ports 2 on the motherboard and 2 on a separate nic. It looks like Unraid counts every port that has its own Mac as a NIC? I did upgrade my system and go through a couple of multiport cards in the last year and I am guessing it doesn't adjust the count on reboot. I did lose connection to Myserver's again, this time the app page still worked along with my VM's, Docker containers, and Unraid it self. I believe I have discovered the problem. there are a lot of video's and guides on these individual topis but nothing that I have found that ties everything together. I believe the Myserver's issue happened as I was trying to setup Rustdesk and Nextcloud. To summerise for anyone that has Pfsense, Unraid, and it trying to reverse proxy a domain or self host a domain you need to make sure to change the web port for Pfsense and uncheck the redirect, otherwise Pfsense can get confused and will assume at least some of the time that everything entering via wan is for the Pfsense firewall its self regardless of any NAT or firewall rules in place. You will also need proper host overrides in place in Pfsense for local access. I would also recommend changing Unraid's web port just in case it can cause confusion port wise for Unraid its self and docker containers. My network tab still wasn't showing a DNS ip even though everything seems to be working properly deleting the network.config file seems to have fixed that. I am pretty sure will this fixes everything is correct now. I will give it a few days to make sure Myservers stays connected and if so Mark this as a solution. Thank you for your time and help.
