  1. Hi I am using two ubuntu VMs on my unraid server. but sometimes one of them happens to be stock. VNC shows a static image, and all communication to the VM stopps (SMB share inside VM, and ping is saying hos is not unreachable). This happens again today, while working on the system. The VM was under heavy load, and the unraid dashboard, shoed that the vm continiued to be under heavy load after the vm seemed to be locked up. I have had this problem both during heavy and light loads, in both my VMs, which are speced very differently. Although most of the lock ups have occurred during heavy loads, they have all happened when i was using VNC to view them. I hope someone can help improve the reliability of the VMs, so they don't lock up like this. The diagnostics are attached below. The VM that is locked up is the one names "Ubuntu-02", The other "ubuntu" names VM works as it normally does. On another note, maybe unrelated, i have seen some link related events in the unraid logs. but have no idea what they refer to. hotbox-diagnostics-20201102-1445.zip
  2. It could have been that. I can't remember.
  3. As expected a restart solved the problem. But i had problems stopping the array, (which is normally not a problem) So had to powerdown from the terminal and pressing the power buttom - still a safe shutdown though. The problem seemed to be unmounting disk shares, of which i have none i think.
  4. Hi I am in the process of moving data off my array onto a couple unassigned disks, so i can reformat my array to xfx encrypted (from regular xfx) When i got up this morning , i saw that the server log is filled with errors like: And much more of stuff like that. atm the logfile is 70% full and is still filling. The data migration is still ongoing in its normal pace, and is expected to finish in less than an hour from the time of writing. As far as i know ngnix is used for the web service, and might explain why the UI is slow and unresponsive. I was not able to download the diagnostics file with the UI, and used a SSH connection with Putty instead to get it generated, then downloaded it off the flash drive. The system uptime is less than 7 days, so wouldn't expect it to be the problem. But i would expect the problem to solve itself with a simple restart, but that might not be solving the problem in the longer term, (for me and other users) So basically this report is mostly used to help find the cause of the problem, since i think i know the quick solution ( reboot ) For ease of use i can post my specs here: Intel Xeon E5-2680v4 Asrock X99 Extreme4 4x16GB Corsair LPX 3200Mz@2400MHz QUAD channel. 5. What is wrong with the flags ? i have never looked at them, so i would know what it is missing. The column flag is there, and on downloads there is information in that column.
  6. Hello, i have been on the older version of the container, namely linuxserver/rutorrent:2fce6c70-ls25 for more than a year, because of the _task problems meaning several plugins was not supported, namely unpack. I finaly decided to fix the problem myself, and it was quite easy. The problem seem to lie in the configuration file of rutorrent. rutorrent\rutorrent\settings\config.php My old config was something like this $pathToExternals = array( "php" => '/usr/bin/php7', // Something like /usr/bin/php. If empty, will be found in PATH. "curl" => '/usr/bin/curl', // Something like /usr/bin/curl. If empty, will be found in PATH. "gzip" => '/usr/bin/gzip', // Something like /usr/bin/gzip. If empty, will be found in PATH. "id" => '/usr/bin/id', // Something like /usr/bin/id. If empty, will be found in PATH. "stat" => '/bin/stat', // Something like /usr/bin/stat. If empty, will be found in PATH. ); But in a new version the default config.php looks like this: $pathToExternals = array( "php" => '/usr/bin/php7', // Something like /usr/bin/php. If empty, will be found in PATH. "pgrep" => '/usr/bin/pgrep', // Something like /usr/bin/pgrep. If empty, will be found in PATH. "python" => '/usr/bin/python3', // Something like /usr/bin/python3. If empty, will be found in PATH. ); So i tried updating my old container to linuxserver/rutorrent:latest and added the two lines from the new config.php and it seems to work as it should now. Just though i would help others if they still had the same problems as me.
  7. Fixed it by using the path ito the smartctl from nside the docker container path = "/rootfs/usr/sbin/smartctl" Thank you
  8. I was indeed pulling from telegraf:alpine, but changing it to telegraf:latest does not solve my problem.
  9. I tried this. but telegraf smartctl not found: when i try to put the path to smartctl in telegraf.conf it says Error in plugin: failed to run command '/usr/sbin/smartctl --scan': fork/exec /usr/sbin/smartctl: no such file or directory if i run /usr/sbin/smartctl --scan in the terminal it works without error, even just smartctl --scan so smartctl is in the PATH, but somehow telegraf can not find it. Some permission thing?
  10. I don't have the option for either smart_device nor serial_no, are you using HDDtemp for smart data ?
  11. Is it possible to have HDTEMP collect the serial number instead of the device id? The device ids, are shuffled every time i have a hardware change, which annoys me a bit.
  12. Yeah, that was what i ment It requires a reformat, so i will have to offload all the data first.
  13. Thank you. I will just add them to the array then. Next round of upgrades will add another parity drive. Now i just have to figure out how the easiest way to make the array encrypted would be... Guess i have to do a lot of data moving arround, to make it work.
  14. Hello. I have used an unraid server for 3 years now, and I have been upgrading it ever so slowly. And now the time has come to add a few new harddrives. My current setup: The new disks are: 2x WD Red 8TB (EFAX) which is a CMR drive like the others. Current Configuration: My Question: Do you think it is time for me to add a second parity drive to my array, or should i simply add the disks to the array, and upgrade with anohter parity later ? What would you do?
  15. Updated from 6.7.2 to 6.8.2 without any problems so far. Dockers stated normally, VMs all good.
