I figured it might be caching through "Previous Apps" so I cleared the template before reinstalling, I get the same "Unauthorized" error ... not sure this means the credentials are wrong or if I don't have the correct permissions..
Edit: Ok, so it looks like the audiobookshelf folders are still in both my cache drive where I run all my containers, and also in my appdata folder.. can I delete from both location safely using Krusader? Or should best practice be deleting from the cache and this change being automatically reflected in appdata due to the cache -> array configuration?
Just get "Cleanup appdata" from the appstore.. Works well for what you need.

i wound up setting up a domain. Got it to work though!
Domain helps a lot with self-hosting frankly..

I managed to set up the docker, and really like the features.
How do I set up server? Would like to add remote access from my phone.
I use nginx proxy manager to set up a remote connection with.

I'd prefer having a selfhosted method of embedding metadata. One that I can access from reverse proxy as well. Mp3tag is too manually hands on, and in my experience rather slow with searching and tagging many files with the audible tagging source.
As metadata embedding is a feature advertised in audiobookshelf, it must work for others.
I use mp3tag to sort files as well as tag them/embed data in them. I haven't had any problems doing so. At all.

Nobody can help me?
It's not a general issue. I never touch my install and don't have any issues.

So I have this whole container set up and working with all my devices. However, when it comes to mass editing the metadata in my files, which I wish to do, I can't seem to get the embed metadata tool to actually work. It gives a Succeeded response, but when checking the actual metadata in something like MP3 Tag, it shows no change.
I'm not sure if this is a container permission error or something else. Every file I've tested is already set via Docker Safe New Permissions:
-rw-rw-rw- 1 nobody users
Any troubleshooting steps I can take?
Edit ---
Just tried firing up a Windows Docker locally to test file permissions, and the embedding of metadata still isn't working on there either.Considering you already mentioned using mp3tag, just use that. It works beautifully when using audible for data.

Asking here if anyone's actually using it.. Genea was Updated on Mar 23, 2022 last.. doesn't exactly inspire confidence. The issue tracker doesn't appear to be getting responses.
Abandonware, or?

I did not write the original plugin, Changes I have made where to make 6.12 compatible. Why do you need to down load a new version of ipmifan on the previous version?
If the fans are pulsing it sounds like the fan speed is going to low and the system thinks it fails and spins up all fans. So you may need to check the thresholds
What are the values of your fans?
This sounds like my original issue, where the Noctua fans I had populated my case with were operating at too low RPM's, so the IPMI on the motherboard panicked and made them run full-bore - so the noise floor when up, down, up, down, up down.. irritating to say the least.
I raised the minimum fan speed to a fairly high level, but considering it's Noctua fans they're still silent. That made the IPMI shut up. Maybe check if you have events in IPMI concerning fan errors that's how I clued in on mine. -

we posted two different config files, maybe that's why your post looks shorter
For me, removing the line "PASSWORD=..." in /boot/config/plugins/ipmi/ipmi.cfg did the trick.Yep, that did it. Cheers!

Read the release notes for 6.12.
Uninstalled old plugin.
Updated OS.
Installed this.
All settings and options blank pages.
Tried uninstalling and re-installing a few times.
Where to begin?
Even my config you've asked for above seems much shorter.
root@FortyTwo:~# cat /boot/config/plugins/ipmi/fan.cfg
FANCONTROL="enable"
FANPOLL="24"
FANIP=""
HDDPOLL="24"
HDDIGNORE=""
HARDDRIVES="enable"
FAN_FAN1234="607"
TEMP_FAN1234="4"
TEMPHI_FAN1234="65"
TEMPLO_FAN1234="50"
FANMAX_FAN1234="80"
FANMIN_FAN1234="39"
FAN_FANA="875"
TEMP_FANA="138"
TEMPHI_FANA="65"
TEMPLO_FANA="50"
FANMAX_FANA="80"
FANMIN_FANA="39"

So I woke up early this morning, had to go pee, checked my phone and UnRAID had notified me of corruption on my cache pool again.
It's been a long while since I last had an issue with BTFRS - the proposed problem back then was my memory but I was never able to find any faults with it. Of course it has to happen the one time I'm away on vacation.. but that's just a law of nature at this point
I built an entirely new server and everything seemed to be going OK, until today.
I set up the userscript to monitor as recommended by JorgeB..
Output:root@FortyTwo:~# btrfs dev stats /mnt/cache
[/dev/sdb1].write_io_errs 0
[/dev/sdb1].read_io_errs 0
[/dev/sdb1].flush_io_errs 0
[/dev/sdb1].corruption_errs 6
[/dev/sdb1].generation_errs 0
[/dev/sdc1].write_io_errs 0
[/dev/sdc1].read_io_errs 0
[/dev/sdc1].flush_io_errs 0
[/dev/sdc1].corruption_errs 8
[/dev/sdc1].generation_errs 0Scrub didn't see anything:
Which just seems.. odd.
So as per Jorge's recommendations I used btrfs dev stats -z /mnt/cache and am now rebooting with my fingers crossed and my cheeks clenched.
Please advise!

That's the thing where I looked first, but the app "audiobookshelf" is not there, even if I would like to put it to apps that are put in deep sleep I can't. Maybe I will try to reinstall.
Works fine on my 'droid..

This is currently not being worked on. I've made a few attempts at it but unfortunately the way I built the web client makes this very difficult to implement. Possibly may require a rewrite of the client so it hasn't taken priority. The issue to follow for this is https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/385Can we send you a few $$$ yet? You've saved my daily commute, must contribute beer or coffee or just discretionary funds.

I almost have the same board as you I tried your guide but I can't get it to work. The sensor-detect command does not exist and there is no "ipmi" only in nerdtools only something called "impi-tools" can you please be more specific?
nerdtools, isn't that depreciated?

If you have fan control enabled set the minimum fan speed to value high enough that won't trigger the critical speed warning, and resulting fan speed up.
Yeah that works. Was worried about fan noise but raising the floor to 39 it remains silent under load.. so yay.- 1

Hi guys
I'm running a SuperMicro board and it doesn't like my Noctua fans, they run too slowly. I've adjusted the curves in the config file to 200,300,400 for lower thresholds - as recommended by SuperMicro themselves (if unsupported) but that just floods the system with fan-speed errors and makes them sound like they're starting and stopping constantly.
As it is, I have to set it to "full speed" to not have fluctuations in noise levels.
Not sure how to go about fixing this any more.
Here's what SuperMicro wrote:
IPMI FAN thresholds:
Linux:
$ sudo ipmitool sensor thresh FAN1 lower 200 300 400
Locating sensor record 'FAN1'...
Setting sensor "FAN1" Lower Non-Recoverable threshold to 200.000
Setting sensor "FAN1" Lower Critical threshold to 300.000
Setting sensor "FAN1" Lower Non-Critical threshold to 400.000
$ sudo ipmitool sensor thresh FAN5 lower 200 300 400
Locating sensor record 'FAN5'...
Setting sensor "FAN5" Lower Non-Recoverable threshold to 200.000
Setting sensor "FAN5" Lower Critical threshold to 300.000
Setting sensor "FAN5" Lower Non-Critical threshold to 400.000Now as I said, I modified the FAN values I could find in the config and set the fan-profile in IPMI (SuperMicros own) to "standard" and it just kept start/stopping the fans.
Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this, other than not using Noctua fans.

Do you have many hosts? Else I would delete NPM incl it's appdata dir and start from the beginning.
Or you need to find follow the debug 5xx errors on the first page.
Yeah that did it. As a side effect I got dedicated IP working again so a better setup than before.
Now it'll probably just run without problems for years again. 🙂
Edit:
Spoke too soon. LetsEncrypt worked, but it seems not all is well.
Favicon downloads, but yeah.. Guess I have some work left still
Edit2: Forgot the docker network restrictions. All good now. Cheers.

So my certificate expired and everything stopped working.. I've just been ignoring NPM because it's just been.. working.
I'm getting this error in the log:
[12/16/2022] [11:23:54 PM] [Express ] › ⚠ warning Command failed: certbot certonly --config "/etc/letsencrypt.ini" --cert-name "npm-7" --agree-tos --authenticator webroot --email "xxxx" --preferred-challenges "dns,http" --domains "xxxx"
Another instance of Certbot is already running.
When attempting to request a new cert. "Internal error" in the webinterface.
I'm unsure if I screwed something up when my server crashed and I had to restore from backup, shortly after which my ubiquiti setup imploded and I had to redo it from memory.
Just found I had forwarded port 80 to the internal port 3000 for some reason. It's now this:
I feel like I'm missing something glaringly obvious here, probably network related or docker-setting related, but the entire household is down with the plague so I'd greatly appreciate a helping hand so I can get access to my audiobooks back 😃
Thank you and appreciate it.

Does the container track any faults or errors in the logs?
I find it changes state to "unhealthy" within a day and needs a restart to function again. I'm baffled as to what could be the cause.

Well, as I said, it works fine inside and outside of the network with everything (Browser, IOS) BUT the Android app, so that tells me everything is set up properly on the network side.Oh, I misunderstood your post, then.
Please check to see if you're using the latest version of the app, and that your container is updated too. I've found that version mismatches can cause it not to function on my android device as well.

Very nice!
Are there any "noob" guides for setting it up?
The docker itself is fairly easy, you may want to look up SpadeInvaderOne for the NPM part of it, if you want to access it from a domain.
Reading through this thread many snags have been addressed too. -

Is this working or is it half done? Dont want to waste time if it is not working.
Fully and working great at that.
@Nanoak maybe your router is having trouble translating the external adresses to internal ones. At any rate, I'm using mine on a samsung and it works fine. I did have a router from my ISP which couldn't access anything local on a public address, since it couldn't keep track of the traffic. It's apparently not uncommon.
When accessing it locally on your PC, do you use the local IP or the public DNS address? I'd suspect, if you are having this issue, that the public DNS address won't work from your PC, either.- 1

A 24H memtest while not definitive will catch most issues.
I've re-run the tests five times now.. still going strong with zero errors.
Anything more I can do to rule out any hardware fault?

Eh it's not depreciated.. but I get your point from the description. It helps if you're unsure of what to delete.
I usually just do terminal to remove appdata folders.
But yes, remove your old appdata directories or install in to a new one and you should be good.
