  2. Hi danioj, hoping you can help. I've mounted the hdd cage on the back of the tower, as per your 'after' image, and have fitted a Noctua NF-F12 fan. The thing is, it's making a lot of noise intermittently, i.e. It sounds like it speeds up and then slows down again??! I have wired it to the motherboard. Appreciate your help on this
  3. Resolved, it was a faulty sata cable to the sdd. thanks for your help guys!!
  4. Thanks for the input guys, I'll have a go when i get five miuntes next week
  5. Hi As per the above subject header, I'm currently running 6.2.1 but I'm at my wits end. The array is not booting and I can't access the GUI (please see appended photo taken of screen). It was working up until recently. I rebooted because the cache drive was showing as unmountable and it wouldn't work when trying to format. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/dvdzuk/439CC502-AD0F-4E82-816D-BA206607A529_zpsjemlzgfg.jpg Hopefully someone can help? 6. I'm in the UK. I don't have the original box. Rest assured however, that it will be securely packaged
  7. I have my unraid nas 20 hdd capacity server build up for sale. I have downsized, as I no longer need such a large capacity. All that is required is an installation of hdd's of your choosing. This unit has served me well over the years. I have never had any issues whatsoever. 8. It took me a few minutes to figure out what on earth you were talking about. Glad you didn't "quote" that post. Thanks for pointing it out - I have edited and it is "normal" now. If you need any help on your build before I post all my notes etc (I have a task list a mile long at the moment and work has me working out of hours quite a bit this month) then post or pm and ill be glad to help! That's good of you, thanks. I'm going to have a crack at it this weekend and will let you know how it goes
  9. Could you repeat that again? Didn't quite catch that haha I'll have a look at that way of doing it, looks good. Just bought some more 4x sata cables as there aren't enough for my 14 drives;-)
  10. Hi Not wishing to put a spanner in the works, but having bought a very similar setup myself recently, you can't physically fit the Caselabs HDD Cage next to the existing hdd's due to the length of the HX850i. Well, you can, but it doesn't sit quite right and is a very tight squeeze. I will have to fix it to one side only using screws This has upset me no end
  11. Ok, well it's not the NAS tower that's the problem then. Just moved the tower to the bedroom and I'm now seeing speeds of around 35mbps. So, it something to do with my network then
  12. Still no joy, I hadn't even selected the drive to use as a cache yet
  13. 1) Syslog attached 2) The PC I'm transfering from is an intel core 2 duo cpu, p8400 @ 2.26 ghz, 4gb ram, 32 bit operating system 3) Connection is - O2 Wireless router plugged in to gigabit switch, with tower plugged in. Computer is upstairs, hooked up using 200mbps homeplugs 4) HDDs are only being accessed to transfer stuff over dfgdfg.txt
  14. As in painfully slow. 2 MB/s slow. Unraid set-up, now wanting to transfer files across network Is it because I have ASUS M4A78LT-M LE motherboard, which doesn't have onboard NIC? 1) Syslog attached 2) The PC I'm transfering from is an intel core 2 duo cpu, p8400 @ 2.26 ghz, 4gb ram, 32 bit operating system 3) Connection is - O2 Wireless router plugged in to gigabit switch, with tower plugged in. 15. I can access the server through internet explorer without a problem. What I'm struggling with is getting my computer to see the hdd's. I have them setup to be shared and have been in to 'SMB' and turned this on to, but to no avail!
  16. I'm having trouble getting my computer to see my unraid server so I can start transferring over to it and crack on with using it. I can access it though internet explorer but I'm having no joy on the hdd access front? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  17. Boost - I'm a complete fool. I forgot the step where you right click the file. I'll give that a go later. Thanks
  18. Apologies Joe L. Wasn't exactly detailed there:-)
