  1. Just want to personally thank everyone - and especially Jens - for their posts here. I just followed his pdf, downloaded the latest "TheBay" Bios, flashed it, followed some other guides on installing a drive in the optical drive bay - and boom, went off without a hitch! 9% pre-cleared already. Thankyou SO much!
  2. Turns out it was a faulty Ram module. Pulled it out and she hasn't skipped a beat. Thanks for the assistance.
  3. Just replaced the network switch with another I have - same problem. Copy gets half way across and then I lose connection. Here's most recent log after needing restart. syslog-2013-06-18.txt
  4. Terminal says "unable to connect to remote host" so I can't. I've reset the network switch and still can't connect.
  5. I've deleted some temporary DS_store and .apdisk files which were duplicated. It still happens - I can copy over small files, but as soon as I try something like a 3GB file it starts copying and then freezes. My server is ethernetted to my Mac via a TPlink Network switch. I'll try connecting it directly and see if the switch is the problem.
  6. Yeah I thought so. Any clues what else might be going on?
  7. OK. I've logged in via telnet to monitor the session. Tried to copy a 3GB video file via iTunes to Disk1 Jun 17 13:07:35 Tower login[1873]: ROOT LOGIN on `pts/0' from `192.168.1.9' Jun 17 13:08:07 Tower kernel: NTFS driver 2.1.29 [Flags: R/O MODULE]. Jun 17 13:08:07 Tower kernel: mdcmd (13): spinup 1 Jun 17 13:08:07 Tower kernel: Connection closed by foreign host.
  8. Now I have duplicate files it looks like. I'm trying to copy movies over - a few work and then the system freezes requiring a restart What do I do please? syslog-2013-06-14.txt
  9. Version 4.7 Running on HP microserver n40l Seems to run for a few hours and then itunes says disk missing, I check ip addresses and the server is missing. Can't access via firefox either so I just do a hard restart. Advice? Logs.txt
  10. all done! Can't believe how simple it was to restore from Parity. SO glad I went with UnRaid. Thanks again
  11. Man I am stupid ... I didn't even SEE that. Thanks so SO much for helping out an old fool. Now to read up on replacing the drive... before I ask more blatantly obvious questions!
  12. Here's what I got. Can you help with interpretation please!? smart_test.txt
  13. The drive is still showing 'Green'. What does 'ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen (Errors)' mean? Is it possible to run smart tests from within the Unraid system or would I have to take the drive out of the bay and run it on a computer?
