When adding hyper links to posts I get a blown up page zoomed on the unRAID logo. Refreshing the page and attempting to add the hyperlink a second time usually works (but sometimes I have to refresh several times).

I am unable to reproduce. Can you post a picture and let us know your browser?

  3. PSA - The Unraid forums will be undergoing a substantial upgrade tonight (1 May, 2024). We expect an outage of around 6 hours starting at 2 AM EDT.

Upon successful upgrade, forums will look different (better IMO):Screenshot 2024-05-01 at 12.13.48 PM.pngScreenshot 2024-05-01 at 12.12.24 PM.png the

  4. Hey everyone, please join me in welcoming @NickdotB to the Unraid team as our new Technical Program Manager hire!

His role will be cross functional and will touch all areas of the company including Support, Ops, Marketing and special projects.

Nick Bettencourt joins us with over eight years of experience as a customer advocate in the realm of enterprise data storage. His journey in tech started in computer science, where he balanced his studies with customer service roles, laying a strong foundation in both technical and interpersonal skills.

After discovering open-source technology, he received an opportunity to join an enterprise data storage company, where he applied his skills to elevate support initiatives. Through dedication and hard work, he advanced to oversee program management, focusing on enhancing project workflows, building better support structures, and expanding analytic capabilities.

His passion for technology extends beyond his professional life as he is a follower of the DIY mindset, which led him to explore self hosting various software. In Nick's own words:

When a friend led me to discover Unraid, I was shocked at how easy it was to set up on hardware I already had. I began incorporating it into my home infrastructure, empowering me to self-host and better manage my digital environment. I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with the amazing community who build and support the platform.

Outside of work, you might find me traveling (especially to the Azores), Kayaking, going to festivals, attending culinary or craft classes, trying a new restaurant, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or trying a new video game.

I bought 3-4 keys due to lack of help over the past 3 -4 years and i wouldnt even care if i would be recieving help but if i mess up in 365 days i wont pay another 300 for less drives.. no way. can you look up my old registrations so when and if power outage or surge or anything that happens more often then 365 days i could use one of my 3 other keys? or at least have them set up for in case i make more servers prob wont cuz lack of support.

But i feel i should get the keys i paid for, and was basically told im shit outta luck buy more.

You certainly wouldn't have to buy more. Please contact support with the email you bought with and the support team will sort this out.

No - you DO get all Unraid features (including VMs and Docker) and keep your lifetime update status.   All releases of Unraid are functionally equal, and the web site should make this clearer.

This has been updated to include VM ad Docker Management.

How update for 8 devices max and life time updates and all VM docker vpn connection apps?

Basic to Plus will be fine for you.

Do you know what the Pricing for that looks like by chance?  Maybe purchasing 'Unleased License' in year one and upgrading to 'Lifetime License' in year two would be more approachable.

Unleashed to Lifetime upgrade is $149 via https://unraid.net/pricing

would my Plugins and Dockers still get updates from the Apps page?  Wouldn't that inevitably lead to Plugins and Dockers being incompatible with the older OS as time goes forward?

Docker containers generally don't care what version the OS is running, so they would likely install and update fine until Docker makes some sort of incompatible change that requires a new version.

Plugins are created by volunteers from the community and it is entirely up to those volunteers how many older versions they want to support. In general it depends on what the plugin does and whether it interacts with an area of Unraid that changed significantly then they may be inclined to drop older versions. If "supporting" a plugin on older versions doesn't cause them any headaches they may be inclined to do it longer.

-What happens after the '1 year' of updates to your system?  Would I have to purchase another $109 +tax 'Unleashed License' to get updates?

Thanks a lot for trying us out!

The annual extension fee is just $36/year for Starter and Unleashed licenses. It is also optional.

If you choose to not extend your license, you still own a copy of the software at the current version that was available at the time of the lapse, but your update eligibility changes.

If your license extension has lapsed, you can download patch releases within the same minor OS version that was available to you at the time of the lapse.

For example: Your system is eligible for Unraid 7.1.0 when your extension lapses. You qualify for the remaining patch releases of the Unraid 7.1.x series. Once Unraid 7.2.0 is released, the 7.1.x patch releases will only include security patches. Once Unraid 7.3 is released, version 7.1.0 will be EOL, and there will be no more 7.1.x updates.

Our naming convention for releases is: <major>.<minor>.<patch>.

You can choose not to extend and wait until we release some new feature you like and then jump back in. You can also start with Unleashed and later upgrade to Lifetime.

-Does UNRAID ever go on sale?

-Does anyone got a discount code or something?

We typically run sales over the Summer and over the Black Friday-Cyber Monday weekend in November.
