  2. I use hat board as well for a mini esxi setup (firewall and test Linux servers.) Good to see you put them on pieces of wood. I see too many people put their computers on carpet :-( Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2
  3. For 6 drives I would have gone a bit higher like 500w but you should be fine. 6 drives would need about 220w (assuming 3amp draw avg) on spin up alone so with even a low power CPU you'd be close to it Max. Aslo if its on 24/7 each year the capacity of the psu will drop so you want head room to account for that. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2
  4. Yes. The same way. Almost all the instructions tell you how. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2 Though as far as RAID cards go, its not the fastest. Ive found it just as fast or faster to leave in IT mode and have the OS do software raid. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2
  5. Yes. The same way. Almost all the instructions tell you how. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2
  6. Basically yes. There are very few cases that don't have the tabs separating the 5.25" bays, and those are few and far between. At least in the US they are very difficult to obtain. Should read, all in-expensive cases - as most Lan-Li cases have owned/used do not have the tabs (or if they do, its on every 3rd one, so works perfect with the cages).
  7. During boot the m1015 should list the drives or load its bios to check before unraid starta. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2
  8. Forgot to add. Some people that sell it in the 150 range will flash it for you. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2
  9. You can get them often from ebay for about $90 shipped in north America. I've seen some in Europe for about the same. Looking yesterday most are in the 150 range. So if your not a rush watch for a better deal. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2
  10. Where I buy/check prices for items in Canada (or that ship to Canada and including duty/etc): CanadaComputers.com NewEgg.ca NCIX.ca (but lately NewEgg beats them on price including shipping/etc and conversion rate with our dollar almost par) Monoprice.com - for cables, cable parts, tools, audio/video, and some computer parts RackmountChassisPlus.com - the name says for what - new find, so not sure how good yet. Amazon.com/ca - .com need to make sure its from Amazon so that they will ship to Canada - usualy free shipping Dell - i know, but sometimes have great deals with free shipping Costco - if you have membership - can have great deals! particularly on network routers, APC UPS', and external storage (flash/usb drives) Ebay - of course - usual disclaimer when using, but the M1015 is easy to find there along with other sata expansion cards when you need them.
  11. Technically not true. Most 4-in-3's have rail slots (so if your case has those support tabs in the 5.25 bays you don't have to bend them out of the way). All 5-in-3's I believe do not have slots (so if your case has support tabs, you Must bend them/cut them whatever to get the cage into 3 bays)
