  1. I see. Thank you for this. Is it possible the controller has issue with 4 drives but not 3? Since the read test worked without any issues when I had 2 SSDs and one HDD connected to it and how could I go about testing this other then for example connecting just 2 drives to see if they work?
  2. I've moved the disks to the second SATA controller and it appears there are no read errors here. The array is rebuilding now. Once it's done I'll try to pass the "broken" SATA controller to the VM and see if it has the same issues there with the other disks. If this will work I guess it's possible that the "broken" controller has issues with 4 drives attached but not 3 as there were no read errors with 3 drives attached to it. I guess I can check the BIOS to see if I can change anything to fix that else I'll try to get some info about the warranty on the MB, but I think it's no longer covered since I bought it quite a long time ago.
  3. I don't think it's the controller since the cache drives are on the same one and are not affected. The other SATA ports I have on the board have a different controller and I have that one passed to a VM. And I did have something simmilar happen to those disk also once and reconnecting the cables fixed it in that case so I was under the impression the issue was with the cables. Thanks for the idea, I'll try the controller I'm passing through with these disks to see if the issue persists. If this is the issue I guess I'll see if my MB is still under warranty but I don't know how to prove to the shop or the importer that it's faulty ...
  4. Hey, I've got a strange issue. Whenever I add a data disk back to the array both my parity and data disk start reporting read errors. - I've tried changing the SATA and power cables (use different power cables from the PSU). - I've also added a 3rd disk and rebuilt the array on that and that worked so I do have a backup in case both my current drives are faulty. - I've ran the extended SMART test on both drives and they had no issues reported - Running read test on only parity drive right now and no errors reported thus far (when both disks added the errors start showing immediately) - I've also moved the data drive to a external disk bay and formated it and checked SMART there the extended test and it also had no errors The issue only occurs when both drives are added to the array. My last option I can think of is to blow the array and recreate it and see if that helps. I'm on unraid 6.11.5 and have 2 Seagate Ironwolf 1TB drives as the array. And I have 2 500GB Samsung SSDs for cache in raid1. All of them are using BTRFS as the filesystem. tower-diagnostics-20230126-1036.zip
  5. It appears there's some kind of issue with the virt-manager backup plugin or something. Doing a clean install without the plugins works and I think that was the one causing problems. Closed for that reason.
  6. After I've upgraded from 6.10-rc2 to rc5 and then tried to manually install rc7 I get the following error: CPU is unssuported ... error: failed to connect to the hypervisor error: Operation not supported: Cannot use direct socket mode if no URI is set I have an AMD Ryzen 3700x and my Motherboard is ASUS MB STRIX X570-E GAMING Tried to run 6.9.2 and it works without any issues. Where could I get the 6.10-rc2 to download? I only found the stable releases.
  7. WSL2 does not work for my anymore. Did you re-create the VM in Unraid and use the same disk file? That was the only way I could disable HyperV in Unraid settings.
  8. I had the same issue. I've upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 after I've upgraded to unraid 6.10.0-rc2. I have just removed the `Virtual Machine Platform` and disabled HyperV in the VM settings in unraid. I don't have HyperV installed in Windows. Before it used a 100% CPU and was non responsive either locally or via remote in a window of about 10 minutes every time it was left unattended. It's been running for at least 20 minutes now and the issue seems to be resolved.
  9. I just upgraded to Asus Rog Strix X570-E Gaming with Ryzen 3700x from what you can see in my signature. I've converted Windows from seabios to ovmf and my Windows VM booted without any issues. - I'm using the last 2 CPU cores with both its threads so: 6/14,7/15 - I'm passing through my RX570 and also it's audio since they are in the same iommu group (no vbios set) - in host bios I've enabled: SVM Mode -> Enabled - I have Hyper-V set to yes in the VM config Are you using seabios or ovmf?
  10. I've converted the VM so that it supports OVMF and booting with UEFI and now the machine boots without any issue and gets into Windows. PCIe USB card is detected and the peripherals also work flawlessly. For now I've solved my issue but it's weird that the error occurred in the first place.
  11. I'll try converting the Windows VM so that I can boot it using OVMF an UEFI. I guess I'll need to add the GPUs VBIOS so that I'll be able to boot. This was not required using SeaBIOS and that's why I've used it.
  12. What do you have in https://tower.local/Settings/NetworkSettings These are my settings: Enable bonding: Yes Bonding mode: active-backup (1) Bonding members of bond0: eth0 Enable bridging: Yes Network protocol: IPv4 only IPv4 address assignment: Automatic IPv4 address: 192.168.X.Y/24 IPv4 default gateway: 192.168.X.Z IPv4 DNS server assignment: Automatic IPv4 DNS server: 192.168.X.Z IPv4 DNS server 2: 1.0.0.1 IPv4 DNS server 3: 8.8.4.4 Desired MTU: 1500 Enable VLANs: No
  13. 192.168.122.0/24 network is the internal network of the KVM on unraid. So these IP's are only accessible from unraid server. What is selected for your "Network Bridge" in the VM configuration? If you use "br0" your router should assign the IP on your LAN and you should be able to access that.
  14. Does it work if you change the Graphics Card to VNC?
  15. I'm using a simmilar setup only a Radeon RX570 and Intel Core i5 6400T. I'm passing through IGP to a Ubuntu VM host where I run Plex and also 4 HDDs are passed through directly coz I'm using ZFS to store everything. Then I have Windows 10 VM to which I pass through the Radeon RX570 also for games directly and steam link to my TV. I've set 3 cores to be available to both VM's and isolated them so that unraid does not touch them and so unraid only has 1 core to work with.
