  1. Alright. Alright. Alright. The 9600k would not change speeds. Even disabling all boost or dynamic clock features, setting the ratio, and disabling all the power modes it just stays at 800Mhz. After getting in touch with Gigabyte and Intel the solution was to swap my 8700k in to the Z390 system and swap the 9600k in to my Z370 system. 8700k came up at 805Mhz in the Z390 UnRaid system and the 9600k worked perfectly in the Z370 system. So, bad motherboard. I got it from Amazon Warehouse. Probably a return or exchange. I save the money but paid in time to troubleshoot. I did learn that basically nobody has tech support for hardware in Linux. I will have to keep a spare drive around with a Windows install on it to do barebones/baremetal tech support with. Thank you everyone for the assistance!
  2. I thought about doing this. Gigabyte support is Windows centric. Possible but I am using the system as my router and other network functions. Be a pain in the ass. I assume always. Since setup I have seen high CPU usage from pfSense, Plex, and Deluge. I jumped to the 6.8rc5 UnRaid to get the newer Linux kernel for the iGPU support. Also, finally threw in Pearl to get the temp sensors working. I finally saw that the temps would not change. 2% or 100% the CPU would sit at 30C or 31C. First clue something was not right. I may just overclock the CPU. Set it at like 4.5Ghz all cores and be done with this nonsense. (Boost is 4.6 single core and 4.3 all core)
  3. Thanks Benson, There was a newer BIOS available. Updated to it now. All power plugs on the motherboard have power. I booted to safe mode with the same 800Mhz result. Interestingly though, after the BIOS flash it reset all the BIOS settings to default and the landing page in the BIOS shows the CPU as 800Mhz. So, I sent off a ticket to Gigabyte asking if that is correct and for some help. However, I am still working the issue myself and would love any insights or suggestions.
  4. Greetings folks, My cpu will not change from 800Mhz. High load, low load, no load, it does not matter. Searching has turned up a number of posts about BIOS settings not allowing cpu scaling to work. I have been trying anything I am finding but after 8 hours of fiddling I am no closer to a resolution. I ask for help. All the cpu related speed settings are enabled in BIOS. Originally they were set to Auto. Tips and Tricks app is installed. Set to Performance and Turbo is enabled. CPU Frequency Scaling Driver: Intel Pstate Governor: Performance Hardware listed in signature.
  5. Thanks for the answers 1812! Can I hardware pass through the single NIC on my motherboard and use a virtual interface for the second interface in pfSense? Would the pfSense outgoing traffic then go through UnRaid, out an UnRaid lan interface, and to my internal network?
  6. Greetings folks. I am prepping to do a pfSense install, but am confused and have questions. I have watched Spaceinvader Ones video series and am confident I can get it up and running but I want to make sure I understand how everything is working, rather than just blindly following a guide. My system has 7 gigabit interfaces. One onboard Intel NIC on the motherboard, an Intel dual port NIC card, and an Intel quad port NIC card. In almost all the guides or tutorials they have me hardware passthrough the NIC that will be used for pfSense. So, remove the interfaces from UnRaid to even see. In Spaceinvaders video he even deletes the virtual interface of the VM. When I hardware passthrough the interface(s), I am essentially setting up a standalone system, as far as networking is concerned. In this type of install, can pfSense talk to UnRaid internally or does any traffic go out the pfSense interface to my switch and in through an interface of UnRaid? An example would be any internet traffic would come in pfSense wan interface, out pfSense lan interface, to switch, and back in an UnRaid lan interface. UnRaid VM setup gives me the option to just allocate interfaces to the VM. Why is this a bad way to do the setup? If I want to use a link aggregated interface in pfSense, would I create the bonded interface in UnRaid and pass it through or would I have passthrough the interface and create the bonded linterface in pfSense? Thanks for any info.
  7. @binhex As of today I have been using UnRaid for one month. When I did the install and added the first docker containers I did not use any of yours. Oh how things change in time... Thank you for your efforts. Also, thank you for being responsive to questions about your containers, that is more meaningful to a noob like me than you may realize. *pokes the PayPal donate link* Funny button.
  8. @binhex Is this the same Privoxy/VPN/IPTables solution you integrate into the VPN version of your other containers, like DelugeVPN and qBittorrentVPN?
  9. Excuse me gentlebeings. I have used Plex Server on Windows for a few months. Took the plunge and assembled a media server/NAS. I want to use the Intel hardware transcoding abilities on my CPU. I have been using UnRaid for two weeks now and am still a lost puppy. Plex server is giving me an error. I am pretty sure I have multiple issues at the moment. My GoogleFu failed me just searching the error. Permissions were the common solution but this container avoids those issues. Here is the Plex server log when I try to play a 5k mp4 video on a Fire HD10 from my server in my signature. I expect Plex to transcode the file down for the tablet. Extra parameter for device is set in the container. Go file is edited. What settings should I check or set? Thank you for your time.
