Solutions

  1. asopala's post in Sudden Internet Connectivity Issue with Unraid was marked as the answer
That's what I'm finding strange, because everything else seems to be looking fine on the outside. I have lights active on both the NIC and the switch, and even trying another cable didn't seem to fix the issue. UnRaid sees the NIC as well.

Either way, I found that trashing the network config file and changing things from scratch seemed to do it. Issue resolved.
  2. asopala's post in Any Particular Reason for Slow Parity Build? was marked as the answer
Issue turned out to be that I plugged in the Parity drive into a SATA to PCIE card, which is what was slowing it down.  I got someone on the other end to move that cable to plug in directly to the motherboard, and that solved the issue.  Interestingly, no issues by the looks of it with the data drive on that PCIE card, but yeah.  At least it seemed to be solved.
