December 23, 20205 yr Fellow Forum Members, My new UnRaid Server build includes two Samsung DVD drives. However, I am confused to see the DVD drives do not appear on my UnRaid GUI dashboard. Why doesn't the UnRAID OS dashboard tab show icons for DVD drives? The purpose for the DVD drives is to transfer data from DVD discs straight to my UnRaid Server Cache Drive. So I am confused how I can accomplish such a task if my UnRAID OS is not recognizing my two DVD Drives which by the way are recognized in my SuperMicro motherboard BIOS BOOT section. Does it require I perform some special UnRAID OS configuration task after my Parity check process concludes in another 10 hours so my DVD drives become operational? Or does it require I setup a Windows emulated machine inside my UnRaid server so I can be able to work with DVD discs? Any advice will be welcomed.
December 23, 20205 yr If you haven't already, I'd install the community applications plugin. On there, search for the jlesage makemkv plugin. It seems to be the most poopular MakeMKV solution right now. February 1, 20215 yr Hi , i have also a problem to "detect" my old IDE DVD Drive directly within UD plugin. If i list my system devices is see the USB to PATA Adapter (which i need because of IDE) and in the SCSI Devices is see the DVD, i even can mount it manually ans pass it to MakeMKV but its not seen in UD. If i atach another usb HD it will be detectet in the plugin. I also listet the UD settings below. Thank you for any advice. February 1, 20215 yr I suspect the issue is that UD does not include any support for DVD type file systems.
February 3, 20215 yr Might as well tack on a question to this post instead of making a new one... If I want to take data from my unraid array and burn that data to a DVD/Bluray, is there a plugin or docker that can help me with that?
