sleeper404
Heya, I've got a few spare 10G NICs I've been using (esx 6.7/7.0 support) for my servers and I'm attempting to get them to work in one of my unraid boxes. I can see the adapter in lspci and see that the kernel module is loaded, but nothing shows up under ifconfig or in the GUI to configure them. I've went in an deleted the previous network configuration to get a fresh start, but nothing seems to be getting me anywhere. lcpci entries: 03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries NetXtreme II BCM57810 10 Gigabit Ethernet (rev ff) 03:00.1 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries NetXtreme II BCM57810 10 Gigabit Ethernet (rev ff) lsmod entries: bnx2x 647168 0 mdio 16384 1 bnx2x Thanks in advance!dstore-diagnostics-20210110-1428.zip Quote Link to comment
Herbiewalker
I have 10GB NICs (Intel X520-DA2) in both unraid, pfsense, and ESXi servers for communication. I had to make sure all the firmware was in the correct IT mode for them to work on unraid. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
NICs are found but fail to load the driver because of an error: Jan 10 14:02:06 dstore kernel: bnx2x: QLogic 5771x/578xx 10/20-Gigabit Ethernet Driver bnx2x 1.712.30-0 (2014/02/10) Jan 10 14:02:06 dstore kernel: bnx2x 0000:03:00.0: msix capability found Jan 10 14:02:06 dstore kernel: bnx2x: PCI device error, probably due to fan failure, aborting Jan 10 14:02:06 dstore kernel: bnx2x 0000:03:00.1: msix capability found Jan 10 14:02:06 dstore kernel: bnx2x: PCI device error, probably due to fan failure, aborting So this is a Linux or hardware issue, maybe look for a firmware update. 1 Quote Link to comment
sleeper404
I had to use a small mirror and a flashlight, but the fan has failed so that would make sense. Once the replacement arrives I'll swap it out and see what happens. 1 Quote Link to comment
sleeper404
Just to update and close the topic, the card does work out of the box with the bnx2x driver and the faulty fan was the culprit! Thank you JorgeB for nailing that one right on the head. Quote Link to comment
