SavellM
Hi all. I just basically built a new server. Supermicro X10SRI-F motherboard. Xeon(R) CPU E5-2680 v4 @ 2.40GHz 64gb ECC DDR4 2133Mhz I have no drives installed, literally just the above in a Supermicro 846 Chassis. I have tried with the legacy boot options (usb creator) on and off. I have tried 6.9 RC2 and Stable. On 6.9 RC2 it said something slightly different, and im kicking myself for not saving it. This is Stable: I have tried UEFI only and Legacy only in the bios. Like I say other than a P2000, and my HBA there are no other drives or other hardware installed. The ram/psu/gpu/hba (not backplane) came from a working system. Everything else is new. BUT there are no other drives so it should only be booting from usb, which it is. Does anyone have any suggestions? Edited January 29, 2021 by SavellM Quote Link to comment

Frank1940
If you have ECC RAM installed in this MB, the standard Memtst86 won't test it. Google to find the version of Memtst to use. Quote Link to comment
SavellM
Well that was an absolute waste of a night for me haha. Thanks for the headsup Quote Link to comment
SavellM
If I say UEFI ONLY in mobo the boot looks like this: Its been on this screen for like 30mins. Quote Link to comment
SavellM
So I got a bit further or further away?! I disabled USB 3.0 and a few other bits like EHCI. Now I have this: Quote Link to comment
SavellM
Tried today with a new USB key same thing. Tried on a dedicated USB2.0 port and still nada. Removed GPU/HBA still wont boot. Literally just mobo/cpu/ram/usb key... Kinda pulling out my hair. Quote Link to comment
Frank1940
Edit your first post. Change the name of the thread to include your MB-- Supermicro X10SRI-F Supermicro MB's are a rather common item in Unraid servers... Quote Link to comment
