nametaken_thisonetoo
I have a single SSD Cache drive that is a bit small and I wanted to replace with a larger one. Unfortunately I didn't read all the relevant FAQ's and ended up following this procedure for my single cache drive How do I replace or upgrade a cache pool disk? Instead of this one How do I replace/upgrade my single cache device? (unRAID v6.2 and above only) The result is a shiny new cache disk with nothing on it...so for anyone wondering, yes I am indeed 'Costanza, Lord of the Idiots'. I did manage to restore my AppData using the CA Appdata backup/restore tool, and also found other posts that helped me get my docker image and containers up and running again. But I have noticed that the backup of my libvirt.img didn't restore along with my Appdata. TBH I'm not even really sure what this is, but my question is should I be manually placing this back into the system share as it was before? And also is there anything else I've missed that I need to be doing to make sure everything is as it should be again? Edited March 8, 2021 by nametaken_thisonetoo Clarity Quote Link to comment

nametaken_thisonetoo
Ah ok thanks. I don't have any VM's running at this stage, nor have I set any up previously. Does UnRaid just place the Libvirt.img there anyway as a placeholder, or is it a bit odd that it was part of my system folder? Quote Link to comment
itimpi
The libvirt.img file gets created as soon as the VM service is enabled regardless of whether you have any VMs. 1 Quote Link to comment
nametaken_thisonetoo
OK cool that makes sense - I guess I must have turned VM Manager on and off at some point, which would then have created the file. Thanks for clearing that up Quote Link to comment
