Slow vm performance, e.g Windows 10 or Kali Linux

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have a Chinese made x99 board using xeon E5 2678v3 with 32 Gb ram running unraid server

I have been trying to multiple vms and concluded that all vms I'm running is not performing correctly, the performance is just too bad for a vm.

vm configuration that I have tested.

Windows 10 pro

4 and 8 cores

8 gb ram

GTX 750 ti passthrough

Using default /mnt/users/domain for vm image store

My cache drive is a wd 1tb hdd

I have tried using Ubuntu and Kali before and both is having similar experience

One such experience is for example. Freshly installed windows 10, install a chrome, and open YouTube to watch a video with direct hdmi video and audio output. I can experience choppy video and audio while it plays.

Seeking help, please guide me along on what information to provide?

Thanks.
