Kansur Posted June 30, 2021 Share Posted June 30, 2021 (edited) Trying to setup two different VMs and I want to be able to pass through the the motherboard USB controller and motherboard Bluetooth adapter. These all reside in IOMMU group 3. From what I understand I cannot passthrough these because this is where my Unraid flash attached. If I move the Unraid flash to an add-on usb card would I then be able to passthrough the devices in IOMMU group 3? Edited June 30, 2021 by Kansur Quote Link to comment
JonathanM Posted June 30, 2021 Share Posted June 30, 2021 The only way to find out is to try. The motherboard may not boot from an add on card, but newer motherboards stand a better chance. Whether your groupings improve as a result is also a mystery, as the group could also include some of the pcie slots. If you get a successful boot then at least you can move the card around to different slots and see how the groupings change. Quote Link to comment
