chas121
I have a Dell H300 cross flashed to a HBA330. It has been working great on 6.8 but I have had a terrible time trying to get Unraid updated to 6.9. Using the mpt3sas module I thought maybe the fixes applied in 6.9.1 would have fixed it but as of 6.9.2 the issues remain. I am unable to get my drives to be seen. I just recently reflashed the latest firmware and BIOS on the controller but it refuses to detect the drives. I'm seeing the following error in the dmesg logs. "mpt3sas_cm0: failure at drivers/scsi/mpt3sas/mpt3sas_scsih.c:11045". I have just downgraded back to 6.8.3 until I can get some assistance on what's going on. I'm pasting the sas3flash output below. I have also tried to mpt3sas backport fixes from the latest linux kernel but there's been no change. I looked at kernel source code for what's happening at line 11045 but it didn't make sense to me, if someone can peek at that who understands what that could mean please let me know? # ./sas3flash -list Avago Technologies SAS3 Flash Utility Version 17.00.00.00 (2018.04.02) Copyright 2008-2018 Avago Technologies. Frank1940
I have reread your post a second time. You might want to consider requesting a Moderator to move this to 'Bug Reports'. My reasoning being is that is this card is working in 6.8.X but is not working in 6.9.X is a good indicator that there is a bug in the new driver. Of course, you will have to provide the Diagnostics Files ( Tools >>> Diagnostics ) and any other logs files that are needed to provide complete background information. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
LSI 9300-8i which uses the same chip (SAS3008) works fine, so it would be something specif to this controller/model. Quote Link to comment
chas121
Thanks. I've contemplated flashing it to the LSI 9300-8i firmware to see if maybe there's a bug specific to the Dell HBA330 in relation to the new kernel code changes. I will reach out to support and see if they're aware of deeper issues. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
