dest0
Hi there, I'm running unraid and daily it seems to crash. I have to hard reset it. I'm not really sure on what next steps i should be taking for troubleshooting. I've attached the diagnostics tower-diagnostics-20211217-0704.zip Quote Link to comment

dest0
Server froze up again yesterday. What else can I try? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Enable the syslog server and post that after a crash. Quote Link to comment

dest0
i told it to mirror locally in appdata, but i don't see a folder for logs so where do i grab them from? Quote Link to comment
dest0
syslogoh maybe this? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Nothing obvious logged, some strange SMB related errors, pool detected some corruption, which suggest possible RAM issues, crashes are likely hardware related. Quote Link to comment
dest0
memtest came back clear. What else do you suggest? Is there a way to schedule a graceful reboot daily? system seems to crash about 2 days after a reboot consistently Quote Link to comment
itimpi
6 minutes ago, dest0 said: Is there a way to schedule a graceful reboot daily? You can do this via the User Scripts plugin using the ‘reboot’ command. This is equivalent to hitting the Reboot button on the Main tab, so you should test that you actually DO get a graceful reboot (in case there is something running that is preventing a graceful reboot). dest0
it took 25 minutes of looking around before i got this working. Incredibly frustrating For the next poor soul that is searching, the information you need to set this up and have it working can be found in this post. Just the powerdown -r does not work Do the moderators here have any suggestions regarding hardware diagnostics? Quote Link to comment

It's not easy to diagnose hardware without starting to swap some things around, like PSU, board, RAM, etc, one more thing you can try before that is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disable, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it basically points to a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.
