January 20, 20224 yr Boot without VT-D and 22 minutes ago, trurl said: Post Diagnostics so we can get a better idea of your hardware attach the diagnostics zip directly to your NEXT post in this thread.

January 20, 20224 yr According to Intel it supports VT-x, I don't think there are any VT-x that don't also support VT-d, wouldn't make any sense.

Sorry I had that backwards. 8 minutes ago, ghost82 said: Are you sure it supports vt-d? Some fast google searches tell me it doesn't support vt-d. You are correct, Intel website doesn't specify VT-d for that CPU
January 20, 20224 yr Author in my BIOS there is only an option for VT-D. Could maybe my Mainboard dont support it? Right now i am searching for BIOS Update
January 20, 20224 yr VT-x and VT-d technically have nothing to do with each other. VT-x is a function of the processor and is required to run any virtual machine. VT-d is a function of the processor and the chipset and is required for passthrough. Even there, on a processor that was originally released in Q1 2010 If it did support VT-d (Intel's spec sheet implies it doesn't) I'd be surprised if it worked correctly since there has been massive progress on device passthrough over the years

VT-T and VT-D
January 20, 20224 yr You don't need VT-d unless you need to passthru hardware devices, such as video cards, to VMs.

January 26, 20224 yr Author Hi its me again i have installed the X5690 CPU in my System but got the same problem. Whenever i activate VT-D the Sytsem is stuck (Look at picture) and wont do anything else.
January 26, 20224 yr That CPU, as most Xeon CPUs, doesn't appear in the board compatibility list, make sure you have the latest BIOS, still it might not work correctly, and it probably won't.
