I'd love to comment on that story but pressing submit just seems to delete the comment and not DO anything <shrug> ::)

not much feedback from the dev(s) lately eh?

NLS, half your posts is about wheter Limetech is "online".

So hurry up and buy the software, it might be too late tomorrow.

Next week, when Unraid is part of the midrange HP SAN systems, the cheap days are over.

maybe I have my reasons for asking

? well, yeah maybe or maybe not.

For my part I dont really care. If the product shut down tomorrow, I will live happily with my two pro-keys.

yes, support for Sata-turbo will not be there, so I will probably be stuck with 32 old and obsolete 2tb drives. DAMN !!

Since I set up my first NT server on a 386 with SCSI2 drives, I have never spent so little time attending a server, than I have on these little pearls.

Please, get to the point and speak your mind.

to the rest: sorry that I took the flamebait and participated in hogging the thread, wont happen again.

You wrote what the rest of us are thinking.

Bill

Your points are valid of course.

Fact remains (believe me, this is not the reason I keep asking "where they are" though - I have other reasons), when someone buys a piece of software, usually doesn't buy the piece just for the code in there, but for having at least the feeling that someone is there for him.

Don't take this as far as "babysitting" us users, but definitely its not the best of feelings to know that for example you just got a little Seat and Seat decided to stop making cars and get involved in frying pans. OK your new Seat will still work for you (esp. since mechanics will still be out there to help), but spares will get harder to find, you'd start looking for alternatives etc.

Maybe the parallel is not too successful but I think some people get my point.

Plus, whatever is the case, the least I'd expect is a post saying "guys something personal happened" or "I took vacations" or "for my own reasons" ..."...and I won't be around for a month" or "and I am dropping this, farewell" (ok I don't believe this is the case btw). Fair enough. Just "puff" isn't the best.

Last post from user limetech is I think 3 weeks back (!) although the user has logged in three days ago (!).

Now you are older product users and your system is ok etc. How you'd feel if you bought the license 3 days ago and have a ton of problems?

Community is a great thing, I (obviously) use it much myself, but when you buy something from somewhere, the first source of support is that "somewhere", not other buyers...

Hope I am getting through (and without begging for flames), English is not my native language.

For some reason questions about the price of tea in China occur to me reading this....

My comment popped in that thread hours later. I guess they are moderating which is fine but they could at least indicate that the message was received. <cough>

Tom warned us he was moving a fair distance, that's more notice than we've gotten in the past. I was as vocal as anyone in the AVS forum way back when when Tom disappeared awhile but back then we had some tougher issues and no other real support aside from that forum thread - such is not the case now. The product works pretty well now so long as you choose supported hardware - hairy bugs aren't killing arrays regularly and the features aren't so bare boned. The man told us he was moving and he's come back in the past with far less notice than that - I'm not worried. It's not like we don't have source now. In short - he's earned some trust from me. Anyway, you've spoken your mind in multiple threads about this to include this one where it makes no logical sense. Please, give it a rest as it's getting old. Vague assertions that you have "reasons" but admit to not having purchased ring pretty hollow. Do you need support for something specific or not? If so post a thread asking and those who've got some patience left might help. Sorry if I've been blunt but this is getting irritating.

fair enough
