March 13, 20224 yr Author I stopped the check. Stopped the array. Started it in maintenance mode. Formatted disk4 .. now what? Edited March 13, 20224 yr by superderpbro
March 13, 20224 yr Community Expert If you still want to remove it from the array, New Config without it and rebuild parity.
March 13, 20224 yr Author Don't i need to shrink the array first (again)? F**k this, im just going to pull the data off and start a new array with new discs. Been messing with this for newly a week now. Edited March 13, 20224 yr by superderpbro

There are 2 methods for shrinking the array. https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Storage_Management#Removing_data_disk.28s.29 The first method mentioned is 46 minutes ago, trurl said: New Config without it and rebuild parity. The alternative method mentioned is what you were attempting. Not clear if you ever got to success with that, but since you formatted the disk it isn't clear any more (if it ever was), so it can't be removed without rebuilding parity. The first method is simpler and more trouble-free, but some people want to do it the other way so parity is maintained throughout.
