TheCrimsonKing
My NVME cache drive failed a few days ago but nothing critical was on there and I found the Unmountable BTRFS FAQ item but won't have time to go down a troubleshooting hole on an unfamiliar OS for a while so I let it sit and was happy to access my media read-only until then. Today though I accidentally tried to transfer a file that had been on the cache drive and after erroring out, all the directories except the one that files was is are missing from that share. I still see them in the Unraid UI file browser, but I can also see the files on the NVME drive that SMART shows as dead so I'm not sure I trust that. All I really want to know right now is, is it safe to do a normal shutdown from the UI and come back to it later or are there other steps I need to take first? unserver-diagnostics-20220411-0118.zip unserver-smart-20220331-2137.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Just shutdown normally, if more help is needed later post new diags after array start. 1 Quote Link to comment
c0d3m0nk3y
Like JorgeB said, you can shutdown, the only downside is loss of data that's on the cache drive which seems to have already happened. I believe you should be able to pull out the drive and use the system without a cache drive until you get a replacement. 1 Quote Link to comment
