[SOLVED][6.10] Cannot boot VM Windows Server 2003 Installation ISO

Hi everyone. 

I'm trying to boot installer for Windows 2003 Server. 

I've download latest VirtIO - virtio-win-0.1.221-1.iso

 

For some reason I cannot boot installation iso. 

When boot I can see EFI Shell

 

if type exit I can see and try to boot from DVD Rom (1 and 2)

No luck so far with booting those.

 

 

 

Can anyone advice me where to look and what to try. I believe I just miss something critical.

 

 

Here is my initial VM configuration. I've tried to mess with parameters but no luck.

With an OS that old, have you tried different machine types or using SeaBIOS?

Hi Squid, 

For some reason SeaBIOS is greyed out for already created machine.

 

But I've was able to create new VM with the SeaBIOS option and it allowed me to boot installation media. 

Thank you very much. Hopefully I will be able to install it further.

For not it cannot see disiks, most likely no driver available. 

 

 

I will investigate.

You setup the disk with virtio: no windows version includes virtio drivers.

I suggest to setup the vm with legacy devices, sata, ide, e1000, etc, at least for the basic devices.
