feraay
Hey, i got a little struggle. My RAM supports 6000mhz and without xmp the clock is set to 4800mhz. so I thought ok enable xmp. I have two options on the ASUs z790 xmp1 and xmp2. With the one I get a KERNEL PANIC - NOT SYNCING VFS: UNABLE TO MOUNT ROOT FS And with the other xmp option I get BZIMAGE CHECKSUM ERROR. I don’t really want to overlock just want to run ram and cpu supported clock speed. when I set ram to 6000mhz without xmp the system boots and with default 4800mhz I have also no problems. would be really thankful for any advice. thank you greetings 🖖 Edited March 25, 2023 by feraay Quote Link to comment
BRiT
XMP is overclocking memory. I would avoid all overlooking on a system that stores my data. It doesnt matter if it's cpu or memory, you don't want to run out of spec. Quote Link to comment
feraay
So it’s the expected behaviour that boot fail with xmp enabled ? Quote Link to comment

No, but system stability is not guaranteed with xmp enabled Try running memtest86 with xmp enabled and see whether your system is stable Quote Link to comment
