Lost password Username webgui

I have never had to use a password or a username to access the management page for my server.

Suddenly last week I was greeted by a page asking me for both.  I have neither.  I was able to continue using the server just not the management gui page.  I shut down the server and tried the password recovery tips given. I deleted the three files in the config folder. I then booted the server and I am getting the same thing.  However this time the array did not start automatically, as it was doing after a power failure. 

Any ideas what I should do next ?

Repeat the recover root password procedure, if it's done correctly it will ask for a new password at first logon.
