Fancontrol according to drive activity?

Featured Replies

Hi, so i use two icydock black vortex drive cages and while i do not like the looks, i do like its cooling solution. In order to minimize dust, sound and powerusage i had the idea to control (only) the cage fans according to drive activity.

drives idle = fans off

drives active = fans on

All my fans are now bios-controlled. Has anyone tried this before? Honestly, i don't know where to start or if this is even possible without server grade hardware.

Do a search for Dynamix Smart Fan. I use it to control the same exact drive cages on my system.
