Hibiki Houjou
hello guys, i have a question 2 days ago my unraid pc froze out of nowhere and i could not access it, so i rebooted the pc and pulled the diagnostics, can anyone tell me what happend before it froze ? twilight-tower-diagnostics-20230725-1918.zip Quote Link to comment
itimpi
The syslog included in the diagnostics only shows what has happened since the reboot as it resets every time the system is booted. You need to enable the syslog server to get logs that survive a reboot. Quote Link to comment
Hibiki Houjou
alright i turned on the log server as you told me to, but the unraid pc froze again mid partity check , a month or 2 ago i also had wierd problems with this pc, like when i downgraded to more efficientness after that it started to happen before this the pc randomly turned off in a frozen state, reset and power button did not work , power led and nic leds where active and lit, i had to pull the wall plug fo abt 30 sec to able to boot the pc again, for some reason, 2 months it worked fine and now i am having a diffrent freezing, the pc and all stays on but there is no video output or anything useable, i can not log in the unraid from web , smb, and dockers are not reacable either before this my unraid pc setup was like this CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU Cooler - AMD Wraith Motherboard - Gigabyte Aero G x570s Video Card - MSI GeForce GTX 1050 TI GAMING X, 4GB Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3600 (CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18) Expansion Card - DELL/LSI SAS 9207-8i IT Mode SATA/SAS 6Gb/s PCI-E 3.0 Host Bus Adapter 27NFF Expansion Card - Intel RAID Storage Expander RES2SV240 E91267-203 SAS SATA 6Gb 24 Port Storage NVME - 1x Samsung 970 EVO 1TB Storage SSD - 2x Samsung 870 QVO 4TB Storage SSD - 2x Samsung 870 EVO 4TB Storage SSD - 2x Western Digital 2TB WD Blue 3D NAND (WDS200T2B0B-00YS70) Storage HDD - 2x TOSHIBA MG09 18TB Enterprise (MG09ACA18TE) Storage HDD - 6x TOSHIBA MG07 14TB Enterprise (MG07ACA14TE) Storage HDD - 4x Western Digital RED 10 TB (WD100EFAX-68LHPN0) Case - Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL Black Case Fan - be-Quiet Silent Wings 3 PWM 140mm (5x) Power Supply - Seasonic Focus TX-1300 Platinum Fully Modulair (1300w) and it has been downgraded to reach idle power of 50w CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G CPU Cooler - AMD Wraith Motherboard - Gigabyte Aero G x570s Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3600 (CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18) Expansion Card - DELL/LSI SAS 9207-8i IT Mode SATA/SAS 6Gb/s PCI-E 3.0 Host Bus Adapter 27NFF Storage NVME - 1x Samsung 970 EVO 1TB Storage SSD - 2x Samsung 870 QVO 4TB Storage SSD - 2x Samsung 870 EVO 4TB Storage SSD - 2x Western Digital 2TB WD Blue 3D NAND (WDS200T2B0B-00YS70) Storage HDD - 2x TOSHIBA MG09 18TB Enterprise (MG09ACA18TE) Storage HDD - 1x TOSHIBA MG07 14TB Enterprise (MG07ACA14TE) Storage HDD - 3x Western Digital Ultrastar 22 TB (WUH722222ALE6L4) Case - Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL Black Case Fan - be-Quiet Silent Wings 3 PWM 140mm (5x) Power Supply - Seasonic Focus PX-750 Platinum Fully Modulair (750w) i have latest bios, i resetted bios twice, i dont use xmp, i swapped ram modules arround, i reseated the cpu twilight-tower-diagnostics-20230726-2012.zip syslog Quote Link to comment
Richard Aarnink
It seems you are having similar issues as @halorrr and myself. We are all on 6.12.3 and we experience system crashes, without anything in the log that is helpfull. I am investigating if the USB flash drive is to blame (as the hardware is not changed). Hopefully someone can help pinpoint the issue, find the root cause. I might return to 6.11 this weekend if we cannot make any progress. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, this usually points to a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.
