DeKa
Hello Unraid, I have a system with 7 disks of 4TB each and one as parity of 4TB. One disk in the pool of 7 has failed, and I want to install a 5TB disk as a replacement. However, the system is telling me to either use the larger disk as parity or try a swap. Can't I just use the 5TB disk as a replacement? Thank you for your assistance guys Quote Link to comment
Solution JorgeB Posted August 21, 2023 Solution Share Posted August 21, 2023 See parity swap. Quote Link to comment

The parity swap process is designed for exactly the situation you are in where you simultaneously upgrade the parity drive to a larger size and use the old parity drive to replace the failed drive. 1 Quote Link to comment
