braided-coffeepot8395
I am using 6.12.4, my first time working with Unraid, the setup is new, I can wipe and redo as needed. I created my RAIDZ2 pool (1x8) and unless I have a disk in the array, I seem unable to start the array. Using SSH, zpool list returns no pool. I must be doing something wrong, see below. If anyone can spot my mistake, let me know. Quote Link to comment
Solution Mainfrezzer Posted September 7, 2023 Solution Share Posted September 7, 2023 (edited) You have to have something, a usb thumbdrive for example, in Disk 1 of the Array. Currently you're unable to start "Unraid" without a single device in the "Unraid Array" Edited September 7, 2023 by Mainfrezzer Quote Link to comment
braided-coffeepot8395
Using another USB key, alone in the array allows me to start the array and then format the ZFS pool I created. I thought this was quite counter intuitive and I must have been doing something wrong which is why I asked. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
This requirement of having at least one data device assigned to the array should not be needed in the near future, but it is for now. Quote Link to comment
braided-coffeepot8395
Thank you for the explanation, at least I know I wasn't doing something wrong. Quote Link to comment
