Start docker without array

Featured Replies

Is it possible to start docker containers without starting the array?

Sorry for Bump, but will this ever be supported. If i have all my dockers and its storage on same ssd cache drive, i dont see reason why i need to run main array for docker to work, when main array is not touch in that use case

It is something that has been asked for before but I have never seen a commitment to it being possible.  At the moment starting up the services (e.g. docker) is tied to the main array starting.

It is possible that something might materialise in the Unraid 7 timescale when the need to have the main Unraid array is likely to be removed but until we see how that is being handled no idea of the side-effects.

bump too! I think this would be a very useful feature. It would be particularly useful to be able to load a few dockers to help resolve issues when disks / arrays fail, such as SMART tools, unbalanced, Krusader, etc, etc.
