Trainerbert
Hey, my Unraid System is crashing randomly. Sometimes it takes weeks, sometimes only few hours. I enabled Syslog to locate the error. Maybe you guys could help :). syslog Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Do you know what is spamming the log with these: Nov 27 17:00:24 Server proftpd[24631]: 127.0.0.1 (192.168.0.22[192.168.0.22]) - notice: unable to use DefaultRoot '~/' [resolved to 'mnt/user/Aufnahmen/']: No such file or directory Nov 27 17:00:24 Server proftpd[24631]: 127.0.0.1 (192.168.0.22[192.168.0.22]) - chroot to '~/' failed for user 'aufnahmen': No such file or directory Nov 27 17:00:24 Server proftpd[24631]: 127.0.0.1 (192.168.0.22[192.168.0.22]) - error: unable to set DefaultRoot directory Quote Link to comment
Trainerbert
I think it is an error from ProFTP. I uninstalled this yesterday. I used it to copy my security camera footage to the shared folder "Aufnahmen". Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Reboot to clear the logs and post a new syslog after a crash. Quote Link to comment
Trainerbert
The system runned smooth for 2 weeks and now 4 freezes in 2 days. I recognized one freeze live at 23:00. But the logs doesn't show anything at this time. I copied the syslog before the new boot syslog_after_crash_before_bootand after the boot syslog_after_crash_after_boot. Also the diagnostics after the reboot server-diagnostics-20231217-2321.zip. How do I capture them before the reboot? Edited December 17, 2023 by Trainerbert Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
The previous syslog comes with the diags if mirror to flash drive is enabled, unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged. Quote Link to comment
Trainerbert
This means hardware issue? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Usually yes, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one. Trainerbert
Server: Minisforum HM80 Ryzen 4800U 16GB DDR4 So I figured out the problem but don't have a solution. The problem is the core perfomance boost. If I disable it the server doesn't crash. If I enable it the server will crash and also runs of course way hotter. But now the funny part. With CPB enabled windows doesn't crash. For me it would be okay to limit the TDP to lower the boost speed but I don't have the option in my bios. I found out that Ryzen Controller would be able to do that under Linux but have no clue how to do this in Unraid? I installed CoreFreq but don't know where I could limit the TDP. CyrIng
Hello, Temperature looks pretty high, with a minimum of 69C. Show me what is the "CPU-Idle driver" in the "Kernel" window Power Limit can be altered in "Power, Current & Thermal" window but it has not been implemented on all AMDs Quote Link to comment
