October 28, 201114 yr i have a parity disk (500gb) and i have one disk1 (500gb if my disk1 fails. can i simply replace it and the parity disk will put all my files back on that was on disk1 or what if my parity disk fails. can simply put in a new harddrive and parity will scan my other drive (disk1) and correct itself. what i mean by drive fail is... complely dead non working anymore.
October 28, 201114 yr All of the remaining drives will be used to reconstruct missing drive. The array continues to operate with one drive missing. The missing drives is simulated and its contents accessible.
