itimpi
Read errors can be caused by factors external to the drive itself so I would suggest that you run the Extended SMART test on the drive. If that fails then the drive needs replacing, but if it succeeds you might instead want to look at cabling/power to the drive. 1 Quote Link to comment
Venares
Drive is in a Dell R730xd so cant see it being a power or cable issue. Extended test is about 70% done so will see what it shows up in a few hours. Edited March 30 by Venares Quote Link to comment
Venares
So Extended test finally finished and didn't throw any errors so may have just been a blip ? ST8000NM0075_ZA17ML5G_35000c50093e93987-20240330-2115.txt Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
SMART does show some issues, but since the long test passes it's OK for now, but any more errors probably a good idea to replace it, you should also post the complete diags to see if they are logged as a disk problem. Quote Link to comment
Venares
Thanks JorgeB. I'll keep an eye on it and I'll post full diag once I'm back home later. Quote Link to comment
